Good game all, and congrats to Rusten/Hitru!

I don't know how to strip the passwords out but I do have a game save from concession time in PB38.  Following RamK's instructions above you can load up your own civ to play things out.  To play as any of the other civs use either that civ's password or the game admin password:

PitBossRB38

Top security practices were in use at the time of hosting that game, I know.  lol Don't worry, the password format later changed so posting that won't spoil ongoing games.  smoke

PB38 saves attached, one for start of game and one of the end state.  Enjoy!

Did you play it out from the end?

I did, I played out a culture victory. It's been a while so I don't remember the details but I think it was in the neighborhood of 100 turns away if not more from when the game ended. But that was against AIs. Against humans I would have had to fight more wars to get big enough to play defense for a long enough time to win against the top dogs and I didn't play out that kind of an end game. I'm sure there was a lot of room for optimization to get the timings down from my playthough but there was no way I'd be able to dedicate the kind of time I spend on live pitboss games to a single player effort.

Maybe we should put together a challenge, win PB38 from the end state by any means necessary. Play as some surviving civ not in the contenders group, however you want to define that.

Hey xenu, thanks for this!  I was able to get it to work.

Glad to see you were able to win your game.  I always thought my position fit the bill perfectly for an unofficial RB Adventure, being in the middle of the pack.  When the game was called, I was about to accelerate PP and RP with my first two GPs to snag Rifling while building up a CR3 Maceman army to upgrade.  My road if definitely tougher than yours, but I am banking on a little bit of AI magic myself to make it happen.

AI magic is at work for me. AI mackoti is in a grinding permawar with AI TBS. TBS is dying but it is taking a long time and I've rolled AI dtay and now AI Dreylin. No reason to stop. It's just moving units across the board now that I have flight and a stack of cavs and infantry with tanks on deck. After a cooldown period from postgame burnout it's nice to go back and revisit the civ I'd invested so many hours developing.

This should be a regular postgame feature.

Nice!  I want to see a FULL LIST of city names when you are done, if you took the time.  There has been a lot more material to choose from since this game ended. lol

I won't be playing my game for awhile with two new ones starting. Or will I?

lol No, it's not really that. You spend so much time and thought developing things to then have the game end so suddenly and never see the development come to fruition. I've always enjoyed the empire management side of the game more than combat and conquest. PB38 specifically wasn't one of those games where I had an itch to smash any particular civ at the end.

I haven't renamed any of the conquered cities but you are certainly correct that there is plenty of source material out there. This will always be my favorite naming scheme.
