[Spoilers]C6PBEM23: Krill sidles yonder, and probably fails

T174 Prey, like your life depends on it

So let us discuss details.

Religious combat is a thing. The best way to win combat is to instagib isolated units, and in religious combat, there is the guru which allows me to also instaheal units after an attack. What I need is a kill squad: 4-5 apostles and a guru, then replace the guru every third turn. I have perfect vision, TAD does not, so I can plan and prepare for follow up turns

This is not even my final faith output, it will top 400 next turn, then add in the faith pillages. I can build an apostle per turn. But I also need Theocracy, so last turn I completed Reformed Church. I will add in Religious orders once I have the kill squad in place, which will take a few turns so I can do that at the next civic switch.

I need to hold at Bombay, but I do have a fall back position at Bambino, both have holy sites with temples.

Actually, there is not much to discuss, is there? Other than Yongle might need to join the banned leaders list.

Raj is in, because I no longer need the loyalty green card, and I value this more than the gold I'd get from merchant confederation in this circumstance.

Here is the bad news: Whosit managed to instagib my double promo line inf. I could cry...only the second unit lloss all war.

Well, you know what you can't see here? Whosits 4 promo field cannon which I happily nuked. I think Whosit didn't realise that I had an arty that was in range of Zanzibar (observation balloon), so he thought it was safe. he thought wrong: I got the city, and the city attack (Steel walls yo) took out 63 health, and then a field cannon finished it off.

Whosit should not be a huge concern unless he now throws himself at Zanzibar. But if he moves a melee unit up, I'll just have to poision the two field cannons to the north of Zanzibar. Unfortunately for Whosit, there is no real way to approach from teh south. I can easily waste a bit of time before the navy comes through and clears the way south of Tourdion to reach Arirang (the fourth capital, before I turn to deal with TAD from the north.

Each city should fall sequentially on T175, T176 and T177. T178 is a turn to reposition, then T179 cities will start to fall, unless there are units I can easily pick off (but that is a balancing act against getting units back to deal with TAD, I think I will not be able to take out all of the Roman cities due to the time it takes to reposition...).

However, I might leave one of these cities in Chevs hands whilst I raze all his other ones with religion. Still thinking about it.

Kill team is coming together.

Whosit almost killed a single, unpromoted cuir that was on pillaging duty. He failed, it cost him his pike and shot. Aegen is the weak side, but I'm going to try and take that out first and then wheel around.

Looking at the amount of tiles that need pillaging, I might just buy a cavalry...it's the most efficient way to turn gold into faith now.

Next turn one battleship can reach FR, so can take a pot shot. At strength 72 I will not be able to take it, but it should stop a walls build and guarantee a T177 capture, even with the Yi Sun Sin ironclad in place.

T176

Turns out this was the last turn I had to play. I made a world map though, so that worked out

There's not much to say, or lots.

Whosit is making another play to attack Zanzibar, so there is another opportunity to create a kill zone.

Aegean falls so I border Chev on both sides.

I have all the aluminum in the world, so no one can compete with air power.

Bombay is fortified with three apostles, one with debater. Next turn I can buy two more, and then I outnumber TAD so the religion spread stops dead: no religious units but mine can even get adjacent to Bombay.

I have bought that many heavy chariots as loyalty anchors I will have something like five tank armies in play, and I have the oil to support all of them. The only challenge is having them in the right place at the right time.

I'm tapped out on amenities, there are no more on the map or available through Zanzibar, it's all down hill from here, balancing war weariness, ability for players to screw up my plans, and preparing to take the final two capitals (so remove Whosits units from the, and walk through into Arirang with tanks whilst naval forces go in at the north and backdoor TAD).

All in all, I'm thankful I don't have to go through those steps. There were going to be set backs, but the pillage economy would make it all happen.

Only way to continue the religious offensive is to bypass Bombay and go up, and then down to Bambino, but by the time the units go that way I'd have an extra 3 apostles blocking the way, so this was over: in 14 turns I could declare, and there was nothing in the ocean that was coming as back up.
