Who wants to join this awesome alliance?

Regarding options 2 and 3: Frankly I would be in favor of the two of us finding another strong, well-established alliance to eventually join. Guild Wars really has at best 1.5 years left in it, and.after that who knows :-) (GW2? SC2? lots of options probably). While forging a new alliance and sticking with that plan through thick and thin might be fun, I am not sure how ready I am for that kind of commitment in the long term. That is, Arch definitely wants to ally with RB. But we also DO want a big honkin alliance to play with, and a lot of our members that were ambivalent about leaving ZoS were content with knowing that we are indeed doing what we can to find/make a big alliance to play with.

So, what I'd like is for us to make an alliance, but focus as much on finding a good alliance to then join as on building a good one from scratch. I don't know which will be easier and which will end up being successful, but I don't want to take one of those options off the table.

So, I *will* continue looking for a big established Alliance we could "gel" with, and I know we'd want RB with us all the way. In your view that may be 'having our cake and eating it too," but in the end every decision we make will come down to what your and our guildies want to happen :-)

Sounds like we already have some potential snags...RB would prefer a "few good men" while Arch wants "a big honkin alliance."

The two are not necessarily mutually exclusive, but I suspect the combination is rare. 8)

Well so far "RB" is me and KoP on that point. Unless you are including yerself there Grimm. [Image: wink.gif]

As mentioned if commitment is the issue, it's not disasterous for us to start something now and then one of the guilds has to leave down the road, assuming it stays decentralized as we hope. A cool alliance can result from the process either way.

Hello Guys,

This is Z, "leader" of FAIL. We are here to make it clear that RB was the main reason we pushed to joining the alliance of ZoS. We would like to continue our relationships wth RB and their allies. We dont know about the drama that was ZoS, and as far as we're concerned we dont want to know. We have made our claims as far as where our loyalty lies.

If you guys need our guild info again, hit me up. My IGN is Z U R I E L. We look foward to rejoining you guys as allies. Its kinda weird seeing RB members in blue letters and not orange, lol.

Take Care guys (and gurls),

Hiya Z

As foxbat mentioned

It would be great to have FAIL join us [Image: smile.gif] However, we would also like to hear your point of view on the following matter just so there be no big surprises.

Quote:No alliance atm.
We did just fine before guild alliance was a feature. It really only takes a few good men to make the game fun for all those involved. Take our Diablo history for example, rarely did we have more than 10 people on on variant nights, the busiest night of the week. (and that's during the height of variant/Asylum activity) We used to just hang in the channel to shoot the breeze when we had that many people on, over playing some silly game lol

However, I see having an alliance with like minded guilds a definite possitive growth. I am for having an alliance. The key is to be selective who we game with over the want to grow.

joining a pre-existing alliance
But why? That would be a long and tedious process unless some awesome alliance we already know who also fits our profile wants us in. In the end, We will still be "jumping" into unknown waters. The other 2 options are much more appealing to me.

alliance with whatever ex-ZoS allies come our way

It goes deeper than that. Using what we are doing now for example - Arch and RB will be working together to forge the future of the alliance. We will see if we are a good fit for each other during this process. IMO, there is no better way to screen a potential partner thumbsup

Looking forward to your comments pertaining whether FIAL would prefer a "few good men" or "a big honkin alliance".

Me? I don't mind a big honkin alliance as long as it contains a few good men (and women, I suppose, although everyone knows there aren't any girls on teh intarnetz!!1!) lol

I was one of those who left alliance chat off, but it's mainly because all the scrolling orange text was distracting and made me act like even more of a noob ingame than usual.

I'll happily fence-sit too. Small is nice and cosy. Big is handy to drag together large teams when needed (or flood a district during special events).

The reality is we are not likely to be huge. I would expect us to attract people based on our ideals and structure, but I very much doubt that we will hit capacity any time soon.

Wassup Guys,

In FAIL 6 of us have been playing together for 2 years. We've been through guild after guild, alliance after alliance and drama after drama. The 6 of us (as some of you may know most of 'em already, Zero, Slov, Aeon, Myself and a couple others) are BIG supporters of "a few good men".

Our stand is supporting like minded people because, for example the Zos alliance. Once again, we joined because we clicked with RB. Even after we joined, everything we did, we were with RB or vice versa. No disrespect to the other guilds, but we didnt know them as well as we know you guys. And it would be crazy because the craziest nights we would have is us hanging out on vent acting goofy.

If there is a huge alliance, thats fine; we have no problem with a large group of potentially cool ppl.. But just from the experience from the core guys here, having a few "friends" and not a butt load of "associates" would be our preference. Besides, ANYONE who can get along with our band of retards and anarchists, must be good people lol .

Well, the only way you *woudln't* find a few good people in a big alliance is indeed if you never turned on Alliance chat ^_^ ... I don't think anyone is so pessimistic as to disagree

But, finding a big, good, long-lasting alliance is hard. Then again, so is putting one together ^_^

I think as long as we remain on the lookout for good guilds to join us, and get our name out there, that will help a lot
