Nicolae Carpathia and Selrahc bring about World Peace, UHC, Apocalypse as Sheaim

From the tech thread:

DaveV Wrote:Gaspar: you were clearly my enemy, positioning to attack me. I attacked first and killed your entire Rosier/corpse/priest/tiger stack.

God damn it, I warned Gaspar in an email. He had an entire turn to reposition it, or even move into a city where it's immune to spectre fear.

I think that's GG. I've collapsed, Gaspar's lost his army, and his only out are treants (5 turns, all DaveV has to do is retreat as Gaspar tries to build up to a mere shadow of his former strength as the gimped new forests (no food bonus, no health bonus) slowly pump corpses.

Sometimes programs think the ALT key is still held down when you alt-tab. Alt and clicking on a rival's name declares war on them. You just need to press ALT again and it'll clear up.

And yeah, that was from July. lol

P.S. A lair pop is a much bigger threat than a griffon on T40. A griffon has no chance against two warriors in a city. And HN units take forever to heal so you don't even need to attack it.

IDK about that. The chances of a lair actually spawning something civ-threatening (tough non-animal monster + actually attacks you) are fairly low. Meanwhile, the threat of a Griffon isn't that it'll take your city but rather that it can camp outside your capital on a mountain or lake and force you to escort all workers & settlers in a 2-tile radius with at least two units until you have fireballs.

Agreed with Bob, that NAP was bad play on my part, I could have gotten actual concessions out of Gaspar if not for it. The problem with the Griffon was that it would set me back even further, during that entire phase of the game, I was tearing my hair out about how I could ever catch up on my demonumbers. Chokes dramatically slow down movement and tile improvement (as I've demonstrated on Bob tongue)

In fact, I wasn't even that mad about Kyan popping the Pyre, it was nice of him to provide tit-for-tat treatment in the future.

On the other hand, what really did annoy me with Kyan was the Sludgeholme/Austin deal. Kyan turning up out of the blue, demanding a city, kicked the alarm bells from "Highly Likely" to "100%". And to think that it was all a misunderstanding! Kyan simply forgot what we discussed, and didn't communicate it properly to Krill, that he got up to and including the Ygg site on the landbridge (and no implications of peacefully acquiring more).
