Cy, it's still not too late to join the Nudist. Foxbat just joined up and Lurker just remade his so we are still running around Ascalon catching people up, tho we all can get to Yak's.

Our NDAd people probably could say something on this if they weren't NDAd, so don't look at this as a taunt to do so.

One thing that hit me and is dawning on other fansites with the announcement of faction's "stand-alone" ability, is that if adding factions onto a chapter 1 account yields less than 4 additional character slots, some people may find it more enticing to keep their chapter 1 and 2 accounts seperate, gaining more character slots at the cost of having their characters divided. (I.E. if chap 2 added onto chap 1 yielded 6 total slots, you could instead have 8 by keeping the chapters in seperate accounts. You would even get more storage space, and likely you can transfer items between characters in PvP outposts with 2 computers or a trusted friend.)

That it would even be worth considering keeping the account seperate suggests to me that aNet is doing something very wrong with this whole character slot issue. I'm not terribly optomistic they will offer 4 slots with the expansion though, and thus players will be faced with this rather rediculous decision.

I was extremely upset about that and let known. However,

We will post when we have reached a final decision on this. The article in question was written a month ago (for print) and the ultimate decision actually has not been made.

There is yet one more thing I am more concerned about than character slots, that seem to have escaped people's attention. This one thing can break the RBGW and other GW communities alike.

I am preparing a write-up on this but we should start a new thread for it...

As some may have noticed by reading other fora (or by trying to log in, expect to dl at least 14MB), the Preview Event is almost running.

New login/character select & creation interface, Battle Isles, New PvE mission in Tombs (with UW mobs), the ability to select what type of team you want to face in the Zaishen Challenge and other stuff.

Both the Assassin and the Ritualist are still hiding, probably in the shadows.
