They've Settled in Kryta

Yep. The Kurzicks and the Luxons have settled in their respective places in Nebo Terrace and North Kryta Province.

And if you look around Lion's Arch there's even a cliched Romeo & Juliet-style quest to net you a simple 2,500 xp and some faction.

But my biggest gripe is... Why Kryta? Kryta has already had an awful lot of stuff added into it since release (Aside from Sorrow's Furnace), and seems to be the absolute centre of the world for any of the holiday events. There's dozens of lesser and undeveloped outposts and areas in pretty much every part of the game that would be better off if some interest was invested into them.

There's practically nothing in the Maguuma Jungle, aside from possibly the most breathtaking scenery in the game. Maguuma is one of my favourite areas in the world, and I find it an awful shame that most people just skip over it by running from ToA to Sanctum Kay. Plus, Maguuma seems to me the logical place where the Kurzick would settle, instead of being seperated from their sworn enemies by about half a mile.

Would you put up an advertising billboard deep in some beautiful secluded glade that hardly anyone knows about, or would you put it by the side of a busy highway?

And the Krytans fresh from the problems of White Mantle dictatorship get to kill three problems with one stone! nod Whenever something goes wrong they can just say, "It's those damn settlers again!" and send the constabulary to do a quick circuit of Ascalon, Kurzick and Luxon settlements without having to go traipsing through half of Maguuma. In the meantime the settlers will be so busy drawing knifes towards eachother that they won't have time to cause any problems for the rest of Kryta. smoke

It shouldn't be long before the thump of dolyak hooves herald the approach of some Deldrimor refugees. thumbsup

New quests in today's update: Crush the Luxons and Smash the Kurzicks (or something to that effect.) However, apparently you can only take one of them. If you take one quest, the next time you go to the other's village, you'll fight the inhabitants, and subsequently they won't reappear, being replaced with bleached bones and so forth. So if you're going to do one of those quests, you won't be able to get faction or XP for the other.

And I also wonder whether there will be any future quests that involve the lovebirds bringing about some sort of reconciliation between their families... and what will happen if one of those families is dead...

Really, there's only one possible solution for the Crush/Destroy pair of missions.

Side with the Kurzicks.

Simple reason is; If you kill the bride's family, who's gonna pay for the wedding? huh

Oh no worries there. A krytan solicitor well connected with the D'Alessio family will contact her soon about her inheritance.
