I would say that in MP games I would be an experienced player, just not a good one, well not to the level of some players around here.

Nice to see you again classical_hero. Judging from the names of some of the other signups I recognise, you might be more comfortable with at least an equally strong teammate. But really up to you, whatever you'd enjoy more.

If you can't beat them, join them. But seriously, judging by the names I recognise from sign-up list, there are already many strong players in this game. And for me anyway, this is more about guiding a less experienced player (or hopefully several!) to improve their play than anything else.

But if all our neighbours conspire to wipe us out early, how will I have a chance to teach my teammate(s) about playing beyond the classical era?

Fortunately with the quality of the players (and the mapmakers) that's unlikely to be necessary. I'm sure this will be much more balanced than you think.

In such a case, you may instead just have a chance to teach your opponents how unwise an idea dogpiling you is
