I would pick an agri/mining civ assuming one is available, and settle on the plains hill. It's close though.

I'd move. Ag/Mining as start techs by choice. Tech path: Fishing-->Bronze. Worker/wb/war/settler

Move to the plains hill. They'll be happy that that's what you guys would have done. Let's not mention that second city.

I was expecting them to settle in place btw when I made the map. I gave them the plains hill forest so they could build efficient WBs. The capital they moved to is definitely weaker than some of the other plains hills capitals IMO, I'd probably have given it another crabs beside the turn behind they start. They still have the extra resources of a non-boosted start though, even if they can't access them straight away, so I didn't think it was too bad. I didn't sim out both options though.

Looking at Joey's thread, I'm surprised they haven't settled the FPs already, up to 8 cities already and they still haven't done so. Also, seems like they should move there 2 dot there 1N onto the plains hill.

If you can move to a plains hill, you do it.

Settle plains hill. No question about it, dont need to scout. Reason: 2 food is plenty to start and pl-hill gets started faster. Neither location is going to be your long term palace unless your land is crap. So dont plan that way, plan for a rocket start to claim a proper bur-worthy location later.

I can't quite remember how much lurking I did before joining. I guess the first game I remember following 'live' would be halfway through PB8. A link to Pocketbeetle's FFH1 report brought me to the site and I then read at least 1 thread of all the FFH games after that. I've since read up on a lot of the BTS games, they make a nice procrastination list. wink

OT4E seems to be really engaged in Dreylin/2metra thread. He's in top5 best civ players I ever heard of in my personal ranking. I'm very curious how the situation with dtay will evolve in the future.
