RB PBEM 2 - de Krill of Fronce

Also, day off tomorrow, so taking requests from lurkers for pictures and anything else that you are interested in.

Just don't ask when Collosus and GL are due, because I don't know...

So, what t do with some rather interesting information...

Got a plan to build the Pyramids. Can build it in 10 turns, in BBB, without stone. I got a heads up that SL is after a wonder...and has to be either GL or Pyramids due to Phi.

Reckon it is a good idea to completely screw with SL, if he is that far away. Only real cost is that I won't be making work boats from BBB, so will have to make them via overflow from Vp, which means not making missionaries from there...I can bank the gpp from the Pyramids, work an engineer when possible, and pop out the GE late game for a corp. Could do the same if I placed Collosus in Vp, for Sids...hmmm.

oh well, but Rep should come in useful, combined with the GL.

Got Aesthetics from Ruff, Lit in 3 or 4, depending on how hard I push. 2 pop slave a lib in LS, unknown eta to GL.

Hey Krill, can we get an overview screenshot of your cities? Another player mentioned you were up to 7 already, but we have no idea where they are or what they look like. smile

I'm up to 6...7th gets founded in 3 turns. If I weren't currently building 3 wonders it would be a lot higher. However, I don't care what I do to my economy, I'm just going to expand as fast as I can, spreading religion and going granary>forge>lighthouse, fitting in work boats and missionaries wherever I can.

Finally, a game where I can play builder instead of having to build a sodding army.

Here is a world map. Please note there is an archer/settler pair west of the northern galley, and this is before I hit enter, but with all units moved, from last turn (I just replayed the turn).

Hindu missionary is about to spread to Borderlands next turn, there is another missionary ready to spread to Lands End the turn it is founded (currently sitting on the borders, will enter the northern galley next turn). Work boat for Dublins Fish is completed, should hook them up the turn borders expand. Worker that is mining Borderlands grass hill will enter the galley turn after the hill is mined, and I will transport another missionary to Dublin along with the worker.

Will double slave a settler from Vp after building it for 2 turns, and send that most likely, to the Combined city sign, and finish a missionary from the overflow, and then a workboat. The worker that is mining LS' remaining forest whill will be used to hook up the corn, and connect up the roads, then most likely will just chop jungle (I currently have 4, get that, 4 workers, and I can't really see the point in getting any more).

The Lib finished in LS end of turn, and it goes straight onto the GL, due in 13 turns without chops, according to the game, I'm reckoning more like 7 once I grow it to size 7 (happiest it can be until the slaving unhappy wears off...in 22 turns total) in 2 more turns, and I chop the 2 forests. Collosus in like...4 after that, unless I choose to slave it...in which case another 2 turns after that. And Pyramids due in something like 10 turns without forest chops. With chops, significantly less, but I want to keep the health (what a n00b!)

Got a pretty nice boost in GNP from settling Dublin as well, thanks to the trade routes being worth 2 cpt, and a further 3 cpt from providing new trade routes.

What can I say, I like my land, I have a neighbour that isn't being a douche, and I have arguably the second best civ for this map (I think Darrell got the best, which is kinda ironic).

And a pic dump...

I really would appreciate spoiler tags though. All of this is after I hit enter on t70, so got to add the GL to the build queue in LS (and go from engineer to the mined hill), and a settler to Vp (hill to coast). Will slave the missionary that is 5/26 in Vietnam once it grows to size 5 for 2 pop, so I keep on working the good tiles there, and overflow into the forge, mostly finishing it. Borderlands completes granary at size 4, I think it is better to grow on the fish to size 4 and complete it there, than slightly over half way to size 4 working the grass hill. Pick up more hammers and commerce in the long term. Also, I have moved a warrior from Vp to BB so that it won;t go unhappy when it grows (well, it will, but warrior moves in before I end turn, so no worries).

And I should say, that I'm considering running the espionage slider on SL, so that I can see his research. That would give me Darrell and Ruff, who I already have, and SL, leaving just Dreylin.

Is it worth it? Probably not, because I will get graphs in about a further 8 turns, 10 at hte outside, but...the more information I have, the more I can exploit it to set up tech paths that maximise boni for me, and set up favourable tech trades via diplo (knwoing when to drop information is a powerful bargaining tool).

Do any lurkers know where I can find the formulae that explain where teh break points are for espionage costs? For see demos, see research, city visibility and investigate city. This is game mechanics question, so should be OK....

Ok, now that's an update! Seems like a week ago that you were complaining when Bluebell Bay turned out to miss the iron. Now it's knocking out the Pyramids in 15 turns. eek What's the big giant jump in your hammer production over the last two turns? I don't think that counts Industrious bonus.
