I'd reckon on a loss or low-scoring draw with the US to start the campaign out on the wrong foot and ensure they have to struggle to get past the groups....

I was thinking more along the lines of action on our game (England/U.S.). I don't expect to win, but I'll still bet straight up. Say 30 gold? That way I lose at most 90 gold .
Ruff, if Australia makes it out of group play I forgive the thousands of beakers you owe me. If they fail to do so, you owe me 1 gold.
