Fwiw I would explore the pyre. It is far enough away that any nasties would take a few turns to reach us and they may even head to the Elohim

Well. A picture is worth a thousand words they say, so here you go:

...We're fucked bang

What are the odds of survival here? Suddenly placing our second city to the east doesn't seem like a great idea.

Should I tell Sir Yellow (the elohim) that there's a mistform on the loose?

ha ha!

About bloody time! Funnily enough I popped mistforms from the Pyre in a SP game last night! Fortunately it was after c.250 turns and so I could deal with it a little better than on t36!

The Pyre isn't destroyed so the Elohim won't know for sure that is where they came from... Dunno, your call. I probably wouldn't tell him and hope that it beats him up a little... but then I'm the same person that seconded the explore the Pyre.... lol

This is actually the first time I pop a mistform from exploring a lair! Exhilarating!

I'm really gonna have to build a lot of warriors after the settler is done though. And i'm trying to decide if I should put the next city to the east or not. Maybe put it north instead, further away from the mistform. I should definitely place it on a hill anyways, for better defense.

Here's the situation at the capital after that disastrous Mistform spawn:

I haven't been able to upgrade as many tiles as I would have liked with my worker because of all the barbarians harassing us. Now that the barrow to the east is unprotected it'll probably spawn skeletons soon too. But a warrior took out the last goblin this turn so the worker will have time to farm some more flood plains. Now the question is where to put the next city. Previously i'd agreed on placing it to the east, but because of the mistform i'm not so sure. Is it really a good idea to place a city closer to where it spawned?

I was thinking maybe placing it in the relative safety of the north. Three tiles north of the sheep more specifically. That way it isn't coastal so we can get tsunami'd by the Lanun, and it will still be a good production site with lots of hills, and with good commerce as well because of the rivers.

If we still place it east, it has to be on a hill, for the extra defence, so i'd say on the plains hill just to the east of the sign, ie two tiles west of the barrow. However that would make it very low on food, only one flood plain I believe, and no wheat. 1SE of the plains hill is better but that's on a regular desert tile, if the mistform gets there the city is pretty out in the open.

Is our only military 2 warriors?

Yes, but when the settler is done I'm making several more. Only one turn left! Though I should probably make warriors right away instead of waiting for the settler to finish, since I won't be able to send away the settler without proper escort anyways.

Well - we need a production site away from the mistform and so it might be wise to head to one of our northern sites? That way we should be able to get some farms and mines going to help build more warriors for protection.

After the settler we should get some more warriors out asap so that if that mistform shows up we can gang bang it. We will need quite a few i'd imagine...

That lightbringer just earned his name I think

I've finally got caught up with my reading, but my time on the library computer is almost up, so detailed comments will have to wait.

Thanks for taking over Sciz.
