I don't think that you can make that lakes map script toroidal, but I could very easily be wrong.

Plako, one more thought I just had:

I think it's better to put the sea on the edge of the map, just for more easily navigating with the minimap. No "real" change, tundra would be along the equator and jungle/FP belt would be towards the N/S near the sea.

If you are putting climate regions in manually that's of course a trivial difference. If you are using e.g. Full of Resources / Lakes, I think there are some editors you could use to swap the top half of the tiles with the bottom half after the fact.

You can make the lakes map toroidial in FoR.
Erebus in the Balance - a FFH Modmod based around balancing and polishing FFH for streamlined competitive play.

For what Plako wants to do then Lakes FoR is probably the better map script.

Cylindrical to Toroidal is one changed letter in the worldbuilder file.

I'm gonna roll few Torusland/lakes maps 1st. In general I think Torusland lakes look a bit different from Lakes script ones. Also it is easier to get the size you want with Torusland although changing map size is doable with reasonable effort. As Novice pointed out changing the map to be Toroidial or Cylindrical is also very easy.

I like Svenspirits idea to have Equator moved in the North/South pole. It is also harder for players to figure what is going on. I can do this also when map is based on Lakes script.

This is mainly for me, but decided to put this in public too.

We've been going through the map with SevenSpirits and I'm about ready to publish the starting locations. I've numbered starts from 0-9 (civ way of numbering them in WB save). I take the original list of teams and assign them new numbers from random.org:

Darn made a mistake in start 8. It is a bit weaker than rest of the crowd so I made a desicion to change corn riverside and Cows to grassland ones.

From a quick glance, Start 5 only has 9 land food, the rest have 10+ (after fixing 8)?
