What, you're not planning a social Rogue?

It's ok, I can do it. I know everyone will be interested in the natural world too, that makes a perfect icebreaker.
It's OK, I put a rank into Diplomacy. I've got this.

The plan is, when we meet new people, I sneak up behind them and stab them for lots of sneak attack hold pleasant conversations while they're mildly distracted by the fact I appeared out of thin air right behind them as they were watching the only entrance.
If they spot me before then, you're good to share your terraforming-of-urban-regions project ideas with them. Hopefully it'll distract them to the point where I can get a sneak attack off close enough to have a proper conversation.

What is the cowl she's wearing? Looks really cool with the vampire armour ...

Bonus spells are out of wrack (appearently by the number of bonus spells you have an int of somewhere between 28-35 tongue) ... while it might not actually be a mistake, you have one 0'th level spell to much, and one first level to little on your spells for the day

lol, I knew I was going to do something funky so late at night ... I wrote the total number of spells, not the bonus number. The spells listed are correct, though; those are my spells known, not prepared, since I'm a spontaneous caster. And yeah I didn't pick the district feat or other equipment yet - like I said it was a first draft. Thanks for looking it over!

Edit: Lewwyn asked if I need Concentration. As far as I understand it duskblade is one of the few cases where a caster doesn't necessarily, because his spells (come level 3) are cast through melee attacks and explicitly don't provoke attacks of opportunity. Any non-channelled spells he would be casting would be cast at range, because if someone were up in his face, he'd probably be swinging his sword at them (with a channelled spell!). Thank-you for pointing it out though Lewwyn; that could have been embarrassing.

Hmm. How about....
Quote:Last week, Himo and Ander were doing their standard jungle harvesting run when they were interrupted by a (troll/party of bandits/DM insert). Despite the poor odds, they fought and won, bringing back a trophy. This impressed the locals who might be hiring.

Also, if you want to hang some sort of story bit off if that, Sian, go ahead. Maybe what Himo and Ander defeated is a scout for the horrible threat that Sasserine is about to face wink.

Tempted... Do you have an idea on what the pacing of play is going to be like?

EDIT: why I ask about pacing, is I'm just wondering on how fast you think the game will move/what the average daily time commitment might be.
Reply

largely depends on how fast you guys are going, but i'm cauciously aiming at an average of 2-3 updates a day. It would of cause be very dependent on if everyone need to have a word in, say doing combat, or the 'face' is fishing for infomation, or people split up and do stuff semi-independently of each other, or if its doing combat where i'd probably have to post a negative/positve after each characters turn ...

exact time commitment depends on to many variables (including how verbose your character is) but anywhere from Werewolf to Pitboss is plausible

Also I express approval of the proposed 'recent event' if that's the sort of thing you're looking for Sian.

Fixed up the items and decided to go back to Arena Blood feat based on my backstory. I'm working on a sort of 'strong as a bull and about as smart as one too' angle.

My noticeable event is going to be something like Holden gets caught up in a duel with a well known gladiator. This feeds into his knight challenging for when he switches class, but he gets recognition because during the fight he is disarmed and only has a shield. So while his opponent laughs at him he gets angry and starts going to to town with his shield and keeps bashing away until his opponent is knocked out. Now when he walks down the street people notice him and remark, "Oh, you're that shield guy!"

I would be interested in wizarding, if the slot is still open. From Shadowshore and physically weak, NAME had to come up with survival solutions before the slums got the better of her, as they did of so many girls. By sheer luck, NAME's natural wit did not become wasted in the dreary daily grind of scavenging and skullduggery, as she was taught to read early on by an educated merchant, whose career took a turn for the worse and forced his relocation into the slums. The trader took to the girl with kindness soon after his arrival in the district and before his newly impoverished status him into a jaded alcoholic. By 8 NAME realised that literacy was her only advantage and given that the best way to leverage literacy in a DnD world is the wizarding, she begged/scavenged/stole her way to a couple of cantrips, and started using these as barter to get the more dextrous and pretty children to do the stealing for her. NAME is a 'specialist' in the sense that amongst her patchwork collection of scrolls, tomes, journals, scribbles and other arcana some schools just have not been represented enough to make proper sense of them, but she does have the benefit of obsessing over what little knowledge she does have. I am planning to drop Necromancy and either Evocation or Enchantment, but would defer to the advice of the party/GM here. (Of course, NAME has seen Magic Missile, but seeing and knowing are rather different things. Then again, she might just be a diviner with no necro.)

If Brick picks this up, no problem.

I have a little experience both playing and GMing, face-to-face as well as play by post. I'd have to bring myself up on the splatbooks, I know neither PHBII nor Complete Arcane, which I would like to scan before the spell choice.
