Lake grows to size 4 EoT, next turn it will work the mine that will be completed by worker C and begin a settler. A and B will complete a chop each in two turns, T43. Yellowstone will finish worker #4 in two turns and begin another settler.
The second settler may have a lion to contend with, it is sitting where I wanted to park my warrior for now. Demos are good.
Scout scouts, Yellowstone finishes worker #4 at EoT. Possibly S/SE next turn, depending on if Dhal starts spending EP on Mardoc.
I guess they just made contact this turn.
The lion moved toward my warrior, so I set up shop on the forest across the river once again. This is the same setup, warrior on forest vs. lion across river, that led the barb animal to not attack earlier in this game. Hopefully the lion will commit suicide. Also, fear my mighty three warrior army.

My day is complete!
Happy Cinqo de Mayo everyone!
Do you live in one of those impoverished countries where they give away the T-shirts made up for the loser of the Super Bowl and such? Because that's the only way that makes sense.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?
Edit: This would make an amazing wedding gift for that obnoxious, douchebag Pats fan in your life. Everyone has one.
That is fantastic.
I have dozens of obnoxious, douchebag Patriots fans in my life, sadly, due to the fact that I foolishly moved to the Boston area 10 years ago. I'm totally buying those before the next wedding/birthday party/bar mitzvah/etc I get invited to.

Wherein my PYFT rating took a minor hit because I was last to play by ~40 minutes. Busy day, but I hate to ever be last to play. Eh, what are you gonna do?
I finally took the available promotion, opting for woody I. I had hoped to be able to get to 5/5 exp and be able to take combat I + medic, but I'll make a medic out of something else. This guy is destined to die soon anyway when real barbs come knocking.
Barely visible under the demos screen, you can see my warrior survived the lion attack across the river, with zero damage done. There is another lion prowling around, but I don't anticipate any problems with it. The warrior will be on the grass forest hill next turn. Bring it on, little lion man.
T44
Woody I got me to ~99% with the forest and river defensive bonuses and I predictably won. No damage, too. Nice!
I moved the scout 1E and saw a wolf. The hill was the safest place to go, and while I didn't want to meet Caledorn just yet, it was better to risk that than lose the scout. Fortunately, I got plenty of tiles revealed but still have not met Caledorn. And, even better, it appears that he settled away from me with his second city. The best news here for me is that this land is so good that I think he will have to settle this before going for the gold, so I'll probably get the gold. Hooray.
I think maybe novice/krill have settled a third city? Or possibly I'm just jumping at shadows because they're going to roflostomp us all at some point, I haven't actually counted very closely.
Not pictured, I'm still following my micro plan, both cities are building settlers and two chops went into the one at Lake this turn. Two new cites are due in the next five turns. Workers C and D began chops this turn for the second settler out of Yellowstone. Worker D is named Dunraven Pass for a long day hike from the Canyon location in YNP that takes you over the summit of Mount Washburn. That is a great way to spend a day if you ever have the chance.
Gratuitous sharing of pictures because this is my thread. (Large file size, inept photography)
The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone from Mt. Washburn. I just love this place.
Elevation stat-porn, and Canadian friendly!
After walking the 11 miles up the mountain, I couldn't catch a ride back to my home base, so I had to walk the road home for another 6-8 miles in fading light and eventually pitch dark. On the way, there was a traffic jam, which usually means bears in sight of the road. This bear was about 20 yards off the road, but was between me and home so I snapped a few quick shots with a point and shoot and got the hell out of there. They're beautiful, but Stephen Colbert has the right of it when it comes to bears. They're godless killing machines, and I want no part of them.
