What did you mean with picking up there? With (true) random rolls you don't have to pick anything correct? Or did you mean just starting with your assigned civ? Sorry but I'm a bit confused.
In the past random has been random with the option to reroll a time or two. I haven't honestly paid attention if this is any different.

My understanding is we are going with the method similar to PB41 with couple of chances to re-roll, although I don't think exact details have been decided. I guess we should make a final decision on the method. PB41 each player had 1 civ and 2 leaders to chose from, with 2 re-rolls. We could stick with that exact method, or with only 7 players we could get a couple more options to choose from. Too many choices though and it just turns into a pseudo-snakepick.
With AGG & PRO banned, I counted (approximately) 43 leaders remaining. For discussion I'll propose the following options:
a) stick with PB41 method: 1 civ / 2 leaders / 2 re-rolls [total of 3 civs / 6 leaders]
b) increase to 2 civs / 3 leaders / 2 re-rolls [total of 6 civs / 9 leaders]
c) something else
My preference is to increase options with (b). Fine with sticking with the PB41 method though if that is the consensus.

It's time that the PB41 method gets a proper name, so to avoid confusion in the future.

Subforum requested.
My availability will be spotty from this Wednesday through the weekend. Friday/Saturday I may not have access at all, but otherwise I should manage daily access to the forums via mobile to participate in picking when the starts get posted. I will have access to Civ again probably Tuesday the 9th or at latest the 10th.

To keep you informed. I'm ready to post starting positions and all, but I see that Elkad hasn't created a thread.

There was literary a last minute feedback about the starting positions. That I'm pondering about. Just give me a short moment to think it through.
