It's most powerful at the capital (I think) but is it better to use the Works to make a second-best hammer city near-equivalent to the best, for two big simultaneous spaceship parts (or whatever)? This is along the lines of not stacking IWorks with Heroic Epic: Generating too many hammers at the same city might pass a point of diminishing returns.
The only point of diminishing returns for IW + HE is if the city reaches the 1 unit/turn barrier and ends up wasting hammers. If it doesn't, then +100% hammers produces the most units (or anything else) in your highest base hammer city. They don't synergize with each other, but both do synergize with settled GGs and with whipping. There is some opportunity cost to stacking them, in that if the IW city wants to build a wonder, you end up turning off the HE bonus for that time.
Typically in single player, I put IW in a separate city, because the land for highest-hammers changes during the game. Early during HE time, it's food resources and hills. Later at IW time, forests are the best hammer tile, and regular grassland works fine for hammers between Biology farms and workshops.
I have no idea whether two big spaceship parts is something to worry about at this point.

Excellent points!

Nor do I. Of course, IW is a long way off anyway (in real life time at least...).

OK, I haven't finished the turn yet, I was waiting for a go ahead on the worker plan. I'll hold off on the final worker action till I either have the silks or not.
Meanwhile, I decided to get off my arse and post some pictures like I said I would.
Here's a look at the northern end of our empire, both actual, and planned:
And here's a look at the southern area, nearly all settled now, with the exception of Adventure Beach, which will be settled in 5 turns.

Those worker names you were looking for: Serafina and Kiara.
Ruff has given us another Bhuddist missionary. We also have the Taoist missionary from England sitting around. I think we should decide what to do with them in the next couple of turns.

Well, we can't get the silk, he's already given it to someone. However, of all things, he has a spare sugar... he's not sure if he can spare it or not ![huh huh](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/huh.gif) he'll email me in the morning after he plays his turn. I'm going to play the turn minus chimeee's action, and call it a night after I take some more pictures.

Here's a look inside our cities:
Planned builds with completion dates here: Hindu Missionary (143), Aqueduct (144), Settler (145), Worker (148), Worker (149), Hindu Missionary (154), Grocer (155), Settler (156)
Planned builds with completion dates: Hindu Temple (144), Theater (145), Worker (146), Catapult (148).
Would be nice if we could get the production up with a couple of mills. I still think that, long term, the cows should become propery of Adventure Beach.
Planned builds with completion - Theater (144), Grocer (148).
We're going to need that theater for happy, and the sugar and silks in short order too. Either that, or we're going to have to start whipping ball courts in some cities, like this one for example:
And... here's one that's going to need it even more:
Planned Builds here are - Worker (143), Worker (147), Worker (148), and, honestly, I think we might need at least a theater, if not a BC here before the University. Sugar + Theater + Silks would give it 3 more happy, but we're going to add another sad when we whip those workers to completion. I think we're still ok though:
More cities tomorrow.

OK, good news and bad news:
Bad News - The waring parties have all made peace. This frees up the Ottos to come bust our heads... this worries me. Hopefully they'll be busy defending JANK instead, as Mali will be declaring war on them this turn.
More Bad News - They want to go back to a 24hr timer. I may end up using a pause this weekend ![frown frown](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif) I've sent an email to Morgan, since he hasn't been seen in these parts in a while
Good News:
So we're back to where we started
Being that is the case, I've gone with the chimeee farms the FP to completion.
Any chance I can get the next turn or two of worker moves?
I'm going to have to go to bed early tonite. I have a 10AM flight to Atlanta in the morning, which doesn't sound so bad till I tell you it's a 2.5hr drive to the airport X_X. I'm going to attempt to play the next turn from Hartsfield-Jackson.

Here's our HE city. This city needs to spam mounted units for, like, the foreseeable future really.
Planned Builds here are - Cuirasser (144), More Mlitary (Not soon enough), More Military (Not soon enough, More Military (etc...)
We REALLY need units, even to the determent of growth for the next 10 turns or so I'm afraid. You'll note, we're trying to get our 2nd great person out of here... risky business as were losing some food for the hammers, but... the reward outweighs the risk hopefully.
And here's a look at our "all food" city. The notorious site of AVOID GROWTH (both the good kind AND the bad kind)
Planned builds here are - Catapult (148], Library (149), Stable (150), Rifle (151), Cavalry (152), and soon thereafter Globe. Yep, we're whipping this puppy to death.
And here's one final city for tonite, before I go to bed since I have to get up early
I'd tell you what our planned builds are here, except... I don't really HAVE planned builds for here, other than I think this would be a good city to wall, since it's on the frontline. I think we need to decide what we;re going to do with this site. Is it a production city with those desert hills, or is it a halfass commerce city? What do you think?
OK, one more. Here's a pure commerce city that's being farmed up to use the whip, in the short run, although, we might want to reconsider a bit. Might be better workshopping all the non river tiles instead? The river tiles need to be cottaged.
I have no build queue here beyond the forge/theater whip combo like we did at Ornata.
I'll do the other 3 cities tomorrow, and attmept to post some demographic stuff over the weekend.

You know, I had a panicked moment a few minutes ago when I opened up DosBox... I was afraid I had overwritten the game... and I might have, BUT, I fortunately sent you the save, and I've also found it in gmail.
I think I found it tucked away on my HD as well. Also, I have chased down the turn log, and the pictures, so my intent is to work on that stuff tomorrow, Friday, and sunday on the drive back if I can get a car power strip to keep the labtop powered up. I will hopefully be able to post the story within a week. Cross your paws!
