[SPOILERS!] Pericles of Babylon. Kyan, Twinkletoes, Whosit.

Kyan Wrote:No, it's not. However, the map type from there makes no difference to the actual game. Shuffle was just chosen to give as few clues as possible i suppose.

The reason for the worker is our cap is already struggling bigtime for food. Whipping here is going to be a big no-no i feel. Especially as the production potential is awesome anyhow. We need to get it growing properly ASAP. Getting that pasture going is priority number 1. The warrior investment was purely to provide defensive security to prevent 'a mortius'. Whilst scouting will be important for sure in this game- it takes a back burner to getting our one single usable good resource running in my opinion. Don't fret, it won't take too long.

Off-topic, what kind of dance do you teach?

Fairy snuff, I'm just really curious about what is south of our start, I have a feeling it's going to be annoyingly good because we never even considered it!

And off-topic, I teach Ballroom and Latin dancing - classes packed full of single women jive - unfortunately 99% are nearly double my age lol! yikes

Twinkletoes89 Wrote:One thing I would like to raise is that seen as we are spending 2 out of 3 turns on a warrior, why not just do a third turn and send him for a quick spy in the South West before pulling him back? I know it exposes us slightly but I think the extra scouting might be helpful?

That's a possibility, though the whole reason for doing the 2/3 Warrior was to have an Ace up our sleeve in case someone nutcase nearby tries to Warrior rush us. We could do this, but my worry is that we'd have to send the Warrior too far away in order to get useful intel. I urge patience.

Twinkletoes89 Wrote:Also, just a quick query without the game in front of me, the map (if I remember correctly) was listed as 'Shuffle', now is it possible for a Team Battleground map one of the variants in the shuffle cycle?

Is this what is listed on CivStats? That's usually never accurate. At least, not with this group. lol

Twinkletoes89 Wrote:BTW if my evening posts seem sporadic on timings depending on days of the week, its because I teach dance classes on quite a few evenings and they fluctuate due to demand so I could be working every night or just a couple! So now I am a student, a cricketer and a dance tutor for those keeping score of my 'talents'

Hence your handle? Hmm, well, for my own non-Civ skills, I can write a mean sociology paper, and I am a competent swordsman. At least, I can generally beat opponents with little experience, and sometimes those with.

I'm a little slow on the trigger tonight. Anyway, here's my suggestions for the Warrior move for the next few turns:

North-west; West; West; West; South-west.

That should land us on a plains hill, though I reserve the right to change these directions if new information comes to light. However, based on the path I expect us to take, we should reach the southernmost peak in 12 turns and start the east part of the spiral.

Ha so we're playing that game? Mine's fairly boring. Mostly leadership based things. I help run a volunteering group on friday's, play for 3 five-a-side football teams and sporadically for a 11-a-side team (have quit but help out when they're short) and work as a team manager (well, i do now as i got promoted last week :dancing5: for one of the oh so successful banks in our fine country.

No such thing! Give me my money back you clucking banker (or something like that wink)!

I suddenly feel a lot better... lol

BTW don't get afraid of our chat elsewhere Kyan, too late to back out now! nono

The gentleman's sport of oneupmanship? Perhaps. lol Well, I can add something else now: Apparently I can beat men twice my age at poker. jive At least, this time.

On a more serious note . . . um, no, wait, I don't think there's much more to discuss at this point. Probably a little too early to figure out how to best leverage our Modern Armor division to ensure total victory. smoke

Quite a few people have logged in since that misclick. I'm happy to just grin and bear it if you guys agree. It's not *that* catastrophic.

OK - I apologise for such a cock-up - I should've moved the warrior before bothering with trying to remove the sign!

I did change the build queue however so at least it wasn't a total disaster!

Haha it happens. Don't worry about it. I logged in and changed the tile we were working also back to the pasture. Both tiles build the worker in 9 turns, but pasture also gives 1 commerce.

Double-post. Yeah, like that's a first ha.

I signed up what i think our next moves should be.

NW - NW - SW - SW

unfortunately it doesn't get us in a forest but it reveals as much terrain as possible and attempts to at least stick to hills as a minimum.
