I will post a final update in the next few days. I founded Hinduism and teched Fishing and was planning to go for Monarchy or Sailing. Gold was found in the north and I had hatched a plan to drop down a quick lengthy road to rush for it. There is no copper on the map as far as I can see, and I've explored the vast majority of the land near my start.

Uh, well you were going to run into my borders in two turns, so next turn you would have presumably asked for OB. I hadn't decided whether to accept or not, because I didn't know how close you were and didn't want you to realize that I didn't have copper. So I was comparing you seeing my not having copper to whatever diplo penalty you'd ascribe for killing your scout.
Anyway I'll post a big map stitch and you guys will see what I mean.

Yeah, I was pretty sure I could have gotten either religion because I was first to Mysticism. But I wanted to go for an HR/OR swap so Poly made more sense.
