I think, yeah, that's probably what we need to do. Push both quickly. Probably the copper site first and the ? shortly after. The main trick is going to be scraping up the worker turns.

Probably. Still catching up on roads, but probably that will be done by the time settlers actually come out.

We're nearly caught up on worker actions. Next turn we finish our interior required road network, and most of the worker will be free to start chopping and mining. I've sent one off already to road toward our next city site, and perhaps we can take one more for the fifth site.
We still need to grow several sizes, but I'm hoping to chop in granaries before I push growth too aggressively. And, well. We have four high priority cities to found. Despite a max city size of three, by working all our resources we're actually doing pretty decently on demographics.
No religions have fallen, so I'm tentatively planning to slot in Meditation right after Pottery comes in.

Meditation would be great ! I advise using binary research (maybe not this turn if it delays pottery).

Ah, right, I knew I was forgetting something. Binary would give us one more turn before we're committed to Meditation.

Suddenly, barbarians.
I *think* that full fortified warriors, in cities, with defensive terrain (2 hills, 1 river crossing) will have good enough odds that we don't need to change anything we're doing. But there's a piece of me that wants to whip extra warriors to guarantee that.

The western one could pillage the sheep, I'm not sure how we could avoid that

Speaking of archery...how do you feel about a quick diversion to pick it up instead of Mediation?
It would take three turns, plus one more to rebuild gold - so it might cost us Buddhism. On the other hand, Fenn's warrior is Combat I/Shock, and he's sticking to defensive terrain - a bit of Str advantage and first strike might be just what the doctor ordered. Archers would be handy in general on this map with all the hills.
I guess the alternative is just to swarm him under with warriors.
I don't really understand why he's declared on us in the first place, though. Does he want Jowy to win the continent? Is he hoping to kick off a 2v1 against us? Is he just bored?
