The guy in the above thread got a spaceship win in under 200 turns. He posted a screen shot. ![]()
The big problem in Civ5 is that the happy cap is really not a cap. It is a speed bump. Even without ICS a player will still have too much population that the game is not balanced around. The tech rate will be too fast for the cities to keep up. A player can build things fast as seen in the above game (See SS part).
yeah that's what happens when science is global but production is local. All your cities work together to research one tech, but they have to produce everythign independantly. So the more cities you have, the more research and production get out of sync.
This was sometimes a problem in Civ IV too, but at least that game had generally lower production costs, and more options for increasing production, like slavery and workshops.
It's good, but 2 questions: what about those that bought from D2D where one of the boni was that the first DLC was free for us. How will that contract be carried out I wonder. And why are 2K releasing that first DLC for free again?

And why are 2K releasing that first DLC for free again? My cynical guess is that D2D will live up to the exact letter of their contract. You get the first DLC for free! They never said how much money it costs normally... In fact, this might be a tactic by Steam and 2K to punish D2D, since I'm sure steam lost a lot of orders to them for basically undercutting Steam with a better deal.
So let me get this straight:
$50 for the entire game, including 18 Civs. $5 for one Civ with a scenario. What a bargain! |
