Did I mention I was slow? Seriously though, all this C&D stuff is impressive, and the amount of effort to document their actions and answer lurker questions is ![bow bow](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/bow.gif) .

Lord Parkin Wrote:Hmm, I guess in the end it makes very little difference overall, but there's nothing much else to discuss at this point of the game, so why not spend ages debating a simple Warrior move. ![lol lol](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/lol.gif)
At this rate, Lord Parkin nearly has enough dedlurkers to field a basketball team. Give it two weeks and enough strays may have shown up for him to field a football team.

LP has given so much away, that I imagine it might actually be quite difficult to craft a diplomatic response. Do you think he maybe wants to build some wonders?
In other news, it's possible plako might be able to help us work out what WarlordDr is up to.

Actually LP is wrong, he can't beat EXP/IND to henge because EXP gets the worker out sooner. And as Luddite wants to go for henge asap he should know that. He has to weigh that up against the reasonableness of a WC rush through a 1 tile choke point which he has uncovered and LP hasn't.

And my opinion of Luddite just went down two notches for giving in that easily. As Bismarck, he's a lock to grab 'Henge. It's not like it would have been all that difficult to say "Um, no, I can get there first, so let's reverse the deal."
While I'm not sure what to expect for an Oracle rush.

And the first dastardly move (lying by omission) of the game comes at the Stonehenge agreement between Lord Parkin & luddite. Luddites c&d folks will likely notice that LP will not have Mysticism in 5 turns, but at that point they will be trailing by 1 turn (and I suppose bound by their agreement not to build Stonehenge).
edit: after reading luddite's chat log, it doesn't appear to be particularly dastardly at all.

I don't see how the early worker makes any difference. Luddite must research Mysticism before he can start building. If both Luddite and LP go Hunting --> Mysticism (a possibility Luddite has to take seriously) then, given identical starts (which Luddite confirms), they would start building Stonehenge on the same turn. Luddite, lacking Mining and Bronzeworking, cannot use his worker to speed construction directly. His worker can only lay camps one turn before LP, which will give him a slight food and, thus, production boost (hence his questions about tie-breakers and overflow) but by his calculations will not save him a whole turn...
...which means the "Stonehenge agreement" must seem to him a decent compromise. Luddite couldn't know that LP wasn't researching Mysticism (and visa-versa!)

Earlier worker = sooner to grow to size 3, 4 etc due to having more turns working foood and improved food, plus quicker tile improvements. It's the snowball effect.
Also, early forges for an Ind civ are not to be sniffed at. I'd probably prefer Oracle for MC in this game...it lets you fully focus on EXP to grow horizontally and then get Oracle about t60?

luddite Wrote:I've started building a scout in Guinness- we've got a lot of land to explore, no barbarians, and we can always build a warrior in 3 turns if necessary. I think this is the first time I've actually built a scout for scouting, rather than just to use as a GG medic.![lol lol](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/lol.gif)
Scouts are so rarely built, being almost invisible units in the build queue, but here they are clearly superior to "scouting warriors". It is an awesome map to pair with no barbarians, and it is nice touch to get everybody to research hunting early.

Plako somehow has managed to miss seeing the gold tile 4 squares away from his capital. It is directly in the path of the one tile chokepoint to the east. He can see via tile bleeding that the chokepoint exists, is not mountain, and has more land on the other side of it. He did find the gold meant for WarlordDR and is contemplating fighting him for it.
Instead, his scout is poking around in the southern tundra. Maybe he'll get the rice tile that he just missed spotting this time around?
