Intersite Game - Turn Discussion Thread

I agree that CivPlayers is the one who should have the call here, but as sunrise mentioned, this is EXTREMELY sketchy nonehtless. Deserving of my all caps statement even! The explanation is weak (he accidentally logged into another civ's team?!?) and what in the world was he doing with trying to set one of the teams to AI control? How does that make even the slightest bit of sense? Someone please explain this to me.

Claiming that he saw nothing on the map during the "accidental" login is one of the biggest whoppers I've heard in some time. That is simply not possible. There's nothing on the map except your capital on Turn 2. You can't not see it!

Honestly, I would like to see someone else host at this point. I do not trust that guy one bit.

I dunno how these guys seem to constantly have these types of issues. We've run umpteen games over here and nobody accidentally logs into anyone else civs, plays anyone elses turns or needs countless reloads.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

He was trying to log into the test game to set an inactive player to AI, and got the port wrong. It'd seem that the first leader on the list in both games was Darius, so it wasn't until after he logged in that he realised. An amateur mistake, but I don't believe there was any malice in it.

I think that if there is a public discussion on the issue, we should refrain from commenting. At most, we should potentially suggest a compromise where Caledorn doesn't do any turnplaying or posting on micro/macro plans for X turns.

I agree. Just let it slide for this time.

We should at least make some statement to get the "team judgement phase" rolling.

LP maybe post something like "This is CivPlayers call. We just want to continue."

I'm really confused about the AI resignation thing... is one of the teams dropping out?

One of the players in the test game (which is still running) has gone inactive. It should never have been an issue for the real game, but Caledorn logged into the wrong game (both having the same admin password and Darius in slot 1, apparently)

That's charitable, but my issue is that as soon as he lies to us and says he saw no map info I have no reason to be charitable anymore.

That aside, now that I'm back home I can show the non-insane way to switch a player to AI:

Just click the "kick button." Also note the helpful game names on each window, so you can, ya' know...tell what game you're actually about to interact with.

I don't care if this guy is Soren Johnson himself (or whoever you want to make our patron saint), though it's still a non-dealbreaker for me, IMHO someone this careless/incompetent shouldn't be hosting the game.

It's up to CivPlayers. I'd give the guy a break.
I have to run.

Yeah.. I think letting CivPlayers make the call makes the most sense here. They are the ladder team right? So I think we can trust them to make a reasonable decision.
