Lord Parkin noticed the galleon hand-off and seems fully aware that he is about to be violated. Meanwhile Luddite and Locke are already at war with someone else. Parkin's chances of winning are looking better and better.
RBPB4 Lurker Thread

Is anyone else rather confused by rego's actions here? Is he just doing it out of spite? I could sort of see there's a longshot that involves the coalition attacking Parkin giving him the chance to backstab someone (probably plako) for land, but surely now with the positioning of his stacks and refusal to allow passage for luddite/nakor he's going so far against the coalition they may not even attack and the game is just handed to LP.
Erm, why do they need to pass through rego? They're on the other side.

If plako's reload isn't allowed I don't see any further reason to lurk this game.

I wonder if the stance ("granting has to happen") would be the same if LP would ask for a reload?
Anyway, I don't see anything speaking against reloading but on the other hand I don't see anything speaking for it. Yes he misclicked and yes it is pretty obvious (for a lurker) that he did that. But I guess a case can be made that several times people misclicked and did not ask for a reload. 30 rifles and 1 lost turn in anarchy may sound much and surely could make his attack much harder, but if one mismoves his army in the war that could cost as much and more: Is he allowed to replay as well? Probably not because he gained scouting information. How to differentiate between misclicks and bad moves? I am also not sure if it is fair to ask the players for a decision on that. They obviously have depending on the state of the game different interests and are probably hard pressed to make an objective decision. At war, I would never allow this reload.

In pitboss 2, Whosit asked for a reload after a similarly major misclick and it wasn't granted. I don't really see how this situation is more deserving of one.
I think it would be best to reload, but LP has already stated that he doesn't wish to allow it. I really don't see grounds for GES to override that. The only rule that even seems potentially relevant is: "7) Fair Play: Teams should show good sportsmanship and act in good faith. Play to win, play to survive, and avoid moves that artificially unbalance the game." I think a case could be made that not allowing the reload would artificially unbalance the game, but it's a weak one. Allowing the reload would also artificially affect the game. It's a pity this issue even came up, there's no good way to solve it now that LP has refused. I'm rooting for the coalition against LP, but it wouldn't really be fair to him to intervene here. |
