[PB75 Spoiler] Ginger and Civac's Outside Context Problem
|
Unfortunately RNG is cruel and fickle and turned its back on ljub in the final hour, as we won 4 70% and 1 50%. In total we killed 20 Cuirs for the loss of 4 and 2 cav and 2 pikes. Ljub lost 300k power this turn and we lost about 80k. This should buy Greenline enough time until Ljub tries again with a proper infantry doom stack instead of cavalry dives. I realistically would've liked to keep the peace but his intent to take all of Greenline declares that he intends to attack me in the future or contain me. So I take advantage of the moment to limit his offensive power

Greenline for after this game if you're wondering why i razed the city i recaptured, its because i screwed up and forgot to clear the units around it, removing the option to liberate
Peace is non-negotiable
This is on my own action, but I think, even a city liberation would invoke a discussion.
There was a short discussion a few weeks ago in the PB74 with a similar situation. The discussion had no clear ruling (the question was asked before it became relevant and then the facts changed), but a Citytrade per diplo offer was forbidden. The question was, if city liberation without a trade offer (F1 or direct with capture) is "city trade" and so not allowed, if it's influence a third player. - Which a city liberation with enemy units in the areas would I will raise it in the lurker thread, so maybe wait till a ruling for the next time ? But it's interesting to read that the game sees the "misuse" potential too and don't allow this option, when there are enemy units.
No reaction in the lurker thread and I’m not confident enough to decide alone.
So carry on with the liberation ?
Well Ginger didn't ask about liberating. I'd tend to see no problem with it if they're all at war.

![]() We smash another Zulu cav stack, for the loss of 1 Cav and expenditure of a GG. We will likely lose the GG, 2 cav and a cuir on his counter attack later this turn. He's now whittled down to within 50k power of us. This victory was sponsored by culture building. Music is a good tech. So far this has just been punishing mispositioning on his part. Serious offensive action into his core will have to wait for cannons. The position is still awkward though, there is a large Zulu infantry stack marooned to the southeast in Work Ethic that I don't have a convenient way to remove. I suppose I'd rather he attack and I eat some losses for the price of efficiently clearing it? As I said, we're waiting for cannons

oh man I am a retard and forgot that as first puller I dont get cultural expansion at the end of my turn, so i left the forest road standing. Honestly no excuses for this one, just pure stupid, we lost the entire cavalry stack about 40 cav and cuirs evenly split.
in my defense ive been busy and distracted from work but this is a pure 50iq blunder, no way about it
