Find out if I have horses near me next turn ![smile smile](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/smile2.gif) I'm hoping they are 2S of the gold, for an uber city. Whatever, I'm now thinking that while I want to head straight for Poly, I may have problems...Running through a few simulations, I think I need to aim for at least 3 workers for the 2 cities. I'm kinda swinging back in favour of getting BW after Poly...

I have no idea. I'm severely lacking in scouts as well to show me the surrounding lands, and I don't want to chop out workers. I really want to chop the AP in AM; I have 9 forests, which is 270*1.25 (OR) = 335 hammers. That would mean I could build AP in a mere 8 turns. But I may be forced to go BW fifth to keep up (well, not fall too far behind) in expansion. The only other option to choping is some very hard slaving in AM after I get a granary which means I'm completely ignoring the religions.

OK, I need to wait to see if I have accessible horses, but once I do know for sure if I can easily build WC or not I'll reconsider my tech path. Just 2 more teams to end turn...
Whatever happens though I really need Myst by the time I settle Dunmanifestin, and I can't see that ever being relegated to third city, so I suppose that means that I may end up promoting Mining to third tech, instead of fourth...and because I need myst either way researching that second still isn't a bad idea...
I suppose I should know by Sunday at the latest if someone has gone Polytheism first...

I have Horses, and in a rather interesting position:
Question is, what to do about them. The capitals' culture will take over the horse on t50, so I don't need to settle a new city to grab them...hmmm, will have to think about that...
On to scouting:
I see 3 choices: 2NW, SW/NW, and NW/NE. Again, decisions decisions...

The safe thing, which I have said I should do if I want to be certain of keeping my warrior alive, is to follow the forests. I think that is what I should do.
Also, with 17 teams Sullla can't have placed us in a grid pattern, but he will have balanced it so teams weren't on top of each other. That means I can't metagame where any team is, so no advantage to risking the warrior, without the certainty of any regard.
I think I'm going to play it safe then.

Looking at the tech game, I think I'm going to risk it and try to get the gold hooked up quickly. That means Poly third and Mining fourth - I could get the gold hooked up quicker, but the city would be stagnating for quite a long time getting the Obelisk out. If I manage to land Hinduism, I can delay the Obelisk and focus on working the food (and improving them while researching Mining).
AM can grow to size 4 making a lone warrior for defense, then build some workers. I think I may settle city 3 for those horses provided I find food down there, unless I manage to find a better city site to the NW along the river. I probably won't end up scouting the SE until I get a WC out.
That is, unless everything goes to pot and someone lands Hinduism before I do, in which case I'm going to be really annoyed at myself for playing such a stupid opening.
