I'm not sure why the Zulu were allowed with the capitals being so close, TBH, and the Coppers should *definitely* not have been set in the centrally contested area. If we'd settled on our presumptive Copper, for example, we'd have a city fed by a (first ring!) Cow and Sheep, that was located four tiles away from Elkad's capital, and had a 3H city center. It makes Bronze Working the One Right Option in the early tech path, renders the Zulu OP, and removes a ton of interesting variance from the game.
Oh well, if the Aggressive Zulu team already have four cities, I guess we are now playing to win our island until gsorel/DMOC land Astronomy and wreck everyone. Let's have fun until then.

Some good news (I hope). Elkad settled... 1SW of the Pigs:
If he doesn't land Hinduism there, then I don't know what he's thinking. Without it, we should be able to control the Fur and Clams. And it's a really tough spot to defend: presumably, he's already under pressure from NC's Warriors, and NC will surely get his Copper online soon.
I like that we have a buffer between us and the more aggressive player, regardless.

That isn't good news ... that is fantastic news! It gives us breathing room to push our expansion a little more without having to worry about a rush (too much).
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

Suggestion for city names ... Juxtaposition ... but we would need two cities that are side by side that have different purposes (ie one science, one hammers). We could call one 'Juxta' and the other 'Position' and swap the names every 25 turns or so.

I'm scratching my head about that city. The only thing I can imagine is that he's grabbing for copper that he couldn't get by settling on the plains hill. But damn, that's hard to defend, even if the lake does afford him some cover. If I were him and screwed that badly on copper, I probably would have just given up the north as a bad job, spammed archers, and landgrabbed south as hard as possible. At least it shields us from NC harassment to some extent.
Him taking first-ring pigs does weaken our prospective western city; any thoughts on doing corn/ivory first, maybe delaying one of our Settlers for an additional Worker? (What are our current Workers up to, for that matter?)
@Ruff: The site we've been drawing from so far doesn't list juxtaposition as a rhetorical device of its own, but it does show up as part of the definition of Antithesis, which I think would be a fantastic name.
Late edit not worth another post: chumchu made a post in General asking for a DL (in the title; it mentioned spoilers, so I didn't click the thread itself). Gawdzak had previously been doing the turnplaying, it seemed; it could be coincidence, but the timing is such as to make me suspect a ragequit (which is concerning because, as previously mentioned, that team might be all that's left to hold gsorel in check). Nothing that can be done about it, in any case.

Juxtaposition for the next city, and Antithesis for the one after that? I'd suggest waiting for some of the half-mirrored spots (e.g. NC's Sheep/Copper spot) to be free before using both names for the pairs, but that'd be a bit presumptive.
Ruff, if you want to hunt down some more city names, there's a good list here.

The big news for the turn is that NC is being annoying:
I *think* he is either trying to camp our presumptive Copper tile, or he wants us to commit the Warrior and Archer in the south whilst moving a second Warrior towards our next city site. So, I think we need to draw the Quecha back that was moving towards Skotison to protect Syllepsis, whilst also retaining the Archer for Juxtaposition.

I did test that, but the timing with Bronze Working and the Slavery revolt was awkward. I also think it's important to settle the Plains Hill ASAP. We will be in a culture battle with Elkad to control the Furs, so the sooner we settle this the sooner we can whip a Terrace. It also locks down our borders and, if it is settled sooner, we can hope for a lucky Buddhism spread.

All right; I'm just grouchy about not having any good food to work. Deer require AH, clams require Fishing and a border expand, and plains cows is not a food tile.
EDIT: Your military analysis looks sound to me. If he yolos into syllepsis and wins at tiny %, oh well.

I changed some builds, as you can see.

edit: could one of you login and see if Elkad has reacted to our Settler moving onto the Plains Hill? I can't access civ for a few hours.

That news isn't immediately bad. Injured Imp, two units in our capital before he can attack ... we should be ok. However, it does mean that we have a civ with multiple cities to our North. Also ... imps make awesome scouts. I am not sure if I have ever played a game and used imps ... there is a solo game waiting to be played.
Re filling in ... I won't be home for another 16 hrs and won't be able to look at civ for at least 24.

That would be nice. It's at full health and has a promotion available.
There's no chance it can take our capital, if we play it safe. The big problem is that it can choke us into irrelevance and we are already staring at a 5 cities vs. 2 cities situation. It also makes the west very exposed.
