Nice trick. I've always thought it should be possible to make OB and other mutual trades part of a peace deal.

Diplomacy and peace mechanics could definitely do with rebuilding for SMEG mod and probably RtR.
I also wish that F4 tech screen wasn't such a pain in the arse to use.

Few pictures. This is the last turn of the GA, and we make a nice 3850bpt. Much more than expected due to those extra 40 or so trade routes we now have. I'm hoping that when the GA ends, we still have a max bpt of 3400, but I doubt it. Probably more around 3200, and a breakeven of maybe 2000bpt?
BGN has 8 destroyers in this area plus the rest of the now wooden junk and ironclads. We can't send units up to Joey without killing this stuff, but BGN can outproduce us. So we just build more naval units and force an arms race to suck up a reasonable chunk of BGNs hammer output. Also beware the number of promotions he has on his DD, we need battleships or bombers for collateral. It'll be BB because tanks and marines just need Industrialism (and oil for tanks), but bombers need Combustion, Flight and Radio.
Massively inflated GNP because 7 people no Assembly Line (the top 9 players excluding us and Plako know it). We still have a tech lead among the "Not Big 3" group though.

So GA is over. We make 3350 bpt at max, -1100gpt, and save 1930 gpt. PE is on Wealth for the next few turns though so that adds 135gpt to the total (I'm going to build that factory and coal plant).
Assembly Line will finish in 2 turns with 1200 gold remaining; researching at 30% this turn then 100% next turn.
Electricity would be 4 turns total including gold saving IMO. Maybe 5 if can't just squeak it in.
Industrialism would take 5 turns to just research though, but probably 8 turns total due not needing to save gold @100% for 3 full turns.
I'm thinking that after Al researching Music>Mil trad at last and getting West Point in PE and churning out Amphib Inf. Ruff declined OB this turn. I've reoffered it, but if he refuses again I think we need to raze his west coast cities so BGN doesn't get them. Amphib Inf plus airships get reasonable odds on his defending minute men on hills in Boston, the rest of his coastal cities just die.
Xenu is going to die this turn. HAK in the next few turns, leaving us with only 13 players left. Ruff and Ichabod+Darrells starting civ will die as well. That just leaves wetbandit next to BGN, moloch and AT next to BGN and Joey as teh easy to kill players. After that it's William with his own continent, Plako, Joey, dtay and us.
Plako might have difficulty dealing with tanks as he is far from Artillery. Rest of us just have to get swarmed by numbers.

BGN has declared on wetbandit. He does not have Industrialism and Tanks. Wetbandit does not have AL or Scientific Method thus no Inf or Artillery.

I'm trying to figure out what the fuck is happening in this game, but it seems to me that BGN is pissing more people off and Old Tourist aren't making much headway against TBS.
There's also the possibility that BGN is going to trickle units at us which is really a win for us. I just need to figure out what the tech path is here.
Couple of people are research Combustion so I want to put that off until dtay and one other (Plako?) finishes it. That secures the resources necessary for DD, BB, TR and tanks. And the little extra health necessary for PE to not slowly starve back to size 18. So that is a needed tech, just depends when it's researched.
Flight can't be researched until Combustion is completed, but there is no way to win an air war with BGN when he has more MFG and 10XP fighters. So Flight seems bad unless we have bombers and just eat the hammer cost of bombers against fighters, and use the bombers to collateral anything he throws at us. OK it still seems bad.
That means that Electricity>Industrialism for a bit more commerce and tanks, marines and BB, versus Rocketry for SAM infantry. It also gives Attack subs but no uranium stops them from being built. Good job Com.
Really need to have both techs. BGN turns up with bombers then need SAM inf, but also need tanks to have enough attackers to wreck face if he lands. BB are also critical for damaging naval stacks without air support or guided missiles. Actually, that's a good point about guided missiles...
I'm just going to save gold for a few more turns...

Fuck it, just going to go Electricity>Industrialism>Combustion>Flight>Rocketry, fitting in Refrigeration at some point for the Supermarket with extra 4 health an 1fpt, and the +1 movement point for boats. No Uranium means nukes are out of the question. plastics for hydroplant is less efficient for health issues and only really matters for modern armour and units like that which I'll never reach. Game should end by then. I have to save gold for 3 turns after Electricity which should not be finished for a further 5 turns, so that's 8 turns before I have to decide to not research Rocketry.

Heads up novice, but it looks like BGN is setting up his naval stack to push past Ruff. It's very light on transports, so I think he's just going to try and take control of the coast. I'll have to stop tech after getting Rocketry in 2 turns and then save gold to upgrade the 50 frigates we have lying around, but without some form of collateral it's going to be a complete bloodbath. Even on a beeline I don't see us getting Battleships for another 12 turns, more like 13.
OTOH, if BGN does attack us then I think he's going to lose horrendously to OT.
