Luddite, might I humbly suggest putting this in your signature?

done =)
So, the good news from this turn is that I build the Oracle, and took HBR. Still no sign of Sian.
The bad news is, I made a math error when I was calculating how soon I could build the pyramids. It's going to take an extra turn from what I thought .
The weird news is, AT moved his archer out of the jungle, and seems to be sending another one. I killed the first one with a chariot.

Huh, here's something strange I just noticed. About 5 turns ago, someone (I would guess Scooter) started Judaism. Then he converted but... back to no religion, and he's not in OR. The only explanation I can think of for that is that he wanted the culture from both holy cities for border pops. But if he's going for the pyramids, the lack of OR is going to really hurt him.

I'm not sure if it's a good idea to put a semi-spoiler in your signature...

This is a good point. I'll take it down.

Sounds like a plan! So do you really think I should build the HG?

I believe it is 200 hammers on quick. With stone and IND, that means you only need to make 80 hammers right? Each pop point is worth 20 hammers instantly if whipped. You have four cities, so that breaks even in hammers or if you have added gems and gold, you could just keep the pop. If you can settle more cities before you finish HGs, it becomes a net win in hammers. So basically, you are getting free health for break even or better hammers on a map with flood plains. Generally, extra health and happiness is better in AW due to the lack of resource trades.
Of course, you do have to defend yourself and build troops. But as long as you are secure, you could probably slow build HGs in four turns in your capital with no chops. I know I had 16 hammers for an archer when I was playing around a few turns ago. You can probably scrounge up 20hpt there soon.

Don't forget that HG also requires an aqueduct. It's definitely profitable, it's just a question of whether it's MORE profitable than the other things I could build (like workers, a granary, another settler, more HAs, the MoM). I think I'll have to wait and see where we're at after building a granary there at least.
