I wonder if that was when there were like 5 or 6 of us all logging in right around the time the PB18 turn rolled. Took forever for me to play my turn (and my turns are short) with people logging in.

This isn't the first time it's happened...PB18 just starts generating a ton of internet traffic from time to time.
Apparently it wasn't our fault this time. A NIC had died, so everything had to be taken down completely and the NIC replaced.
Everything is back up again now. Reloads: PB18 - TBS' login autosave (possible replay needed) - ~43h on the timer PB22 - Plako's logout autosave 17. feb 23:38 GMT+01 - ~22h on the timer PB23 - CheaterHater's logout autosave 17. feb 21:22 GMT +01 - ~8h45m on the timer
As the Americans learned so painfully in Earth's final century, free flow of information is the only safeguard against tyranny. The once-chained people whose leaders at last lose their grip on information flow will soon burst with freedom and vitality, but the free nation gradually constricting its grip on public discourse has begun its rapid slide into despotism. Beware of he who would deny you access to information, for in his heart he dreams himself your master. - Commissioner Pravin Lal, "U.N. Declaration of Rights"
All games are down for updates.

I don't know what happened or why, but for some reason the server rebooted, so all the games were down. They should all be up and running, but if you crashed or were the last person to play, please check to make sure your turn saved. I found the most recent saves that I could, but not all of the games have mods that save at the END of a turn...
Hey guys, I'm setting up PB26 so if any games go down please let me know, it will mean I've done something wrong.
![]() Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon
Due to personal reasons I am, as some of you may already have surmised, quite MIA these days. I read the threads every now and then, and I will do reloads if I have the time, am at my computer, and I see a request before Grimace/Xenu sees it. But please rely on them to be the people you primarily contact for issues/reloads.
Thanks for understanding! And Grimace/Xenu: In any exceptional event, you know how to get in touch with me. I'll respond asap if you contact me.
