Honestly, that's just a bunch of false logic for why there's an advantage to going last. It's not like anybody ever seriously uses Hidden Nationality units in Multiplayer...
The graphs are updated for all players when the turn rolls over. The first person(before they end turn) and the last person(after they end turn) are the only two people who can look at the graphs and the demographics at the same time and see the same values displayed on each.
I hear what you're saying about statistics, but I'm confident it's simple coincidence.

Huh. Well I guess you're right about that, at least. Not that it helps me at all- since I still have NO CLUE how to read the graphs, and everybody else is so dead-set on winning they can't be bothered to teach me how to read them (as a lurker) because they're *ALL* playing against me in another game SOMEWHERE...
It's still incredibly unlikely for me to keep getting last turn, being the one player who had a 2-4 pick in my disadvantage (when the tournament was first rolled out) and then again when it was re-arranged being one of the few players who didn't initially have a 3-3 match structure like everybody else, etc...

I'll explain whatever you'd like to know about them. Feel free to pm me. There are a lot of people on RB who are better with C&D than I am, but the basics are simple enough. The most advanced techniques are often not worth the effort anyway.
I think you're underestimating the benefit of seeing where Barbarian heroes spawn. When Stephanos/Buboes/Orthus/etc. spawns, you'll be the only person who gets the alert showing where he spawned. Nobody else will know anything until he shows up on one of their borders.

North, I presume the last is directed at me. I have no problem with giving players general help, however the things I posted in your thread were directly related to your situation in-game, and was unsolicited help beyond what I thought was my purview. The reason I left the spoiler at all was so after the game you could look through it and see how I, as another player, would have approached your start - with the hope that that would work as help for future games. I've no problem with helping you just because I'm playing in '39 - if you have general questions to help me that aren't specific to a game, feel free to pm me at any time

That's a gross misunderstanding of what's going on here, Northstar. It's much simpler than that:
Lurkers should not influence the game. The game is for the players, not for the lurkers.
The basic level of that is that we shouldn't leak information from one player's thread to another. That includes the obvious things like not saying 'what are you going to do about Ellimist's invasion in three turns' but also more subtle things like 'why are you pushing so hard for that wonder/holy city?' or 'what's the *exact* ETA on that holy city, again?'
But also, RB lurkers are supposed to keep from influencing choices. If I want to choose where the Balseraph settler should go, then I should have signed up to play or dedlurk. Otherwise...the game is for the players, not the lurkers.
What lurkers are allowed to do is only to answer direct questions about game mechanics (not what should I do, but how does X work), and to comment about things after it's too late to change them. Or, to be a dedicated lurker, never read anyone else's thread, and then you can say whatever you want. But dedlurking is a bit of a sacrifice.
The community doesn't work without these rules. If lurkers start leaking information - or even if they aren't but it looks like they are - then players stop reporting. Or they censor their reports. Or they yell at everyone and quit the game and sometimes leave RB entirely. Those are all worse outcomes than someone learning a little less quickly than they might otherwise. Back in the early days, we had that happen a lot: people would make an elaborate plan to invade someone, and keep it totally secret. Then the turn of, 'oh, by the way, I own three more cities now'. But worse, they just totally stop reporting for months, and then come back the turn they invaded someone.

It's highly presumptive to assume that anyone at rb is actively or effectively aiming to screw you over.
Eitb 39 was random. Eitb duel league was random. This result was random.
Ask someone not involved in this game if they will dedlurk you.
Also, I hope we're still preplacing Acheron. If so I will expend my worldspell on turn 0.

He will be preplaced, yes.

Kragroth, you could also wait until later to cast the spell, but to just delete all Disciples of Acheron (if they can even be gained by such a spell)

DIPLOMACY
I don't believe we have made any discussions about how Diplomacy will come about. Perhaps we could begin to discuss? Should it be relatively freeform? Or just AI-diplo (often boring), or, perhaps, that it could be 1 e-mail per turn? That is, you could e-mail each rival exactly once per each game-turn. Either form of Diplo, I can't spend a *whole* lot of time on it, but when I do have time, it'd be nice to do, occasionally.

Since we have lairs there will also be the issue of getting 4/6 archers with the world spell at some point.
I prefer some abilty to speak to opponents. More fun for roleplay for me.

Okay, so seeing as this is my first mp game her I just wanted to go over some obvious things just to make sure I have it so I don't inadvertently cheat or screw up some way, So as I understand so far...
Every player creates their own private thread in the PBEM XLI forum like the one Elimist has made. These threads are made to keep the community who want to follow the game involved, and lurkers post things/questions that does not give away information they gained from other threads. Then there are 'dedlurkers' (a new term for me) who only follow a single players thread and therefore can give specific advice or even in some cases take turns.
Therefore, I, as a player, make my thread, do NOT look at other players threads, and do NOT look at current lurker thread. I'm assuming I can still use this thread for any game/rules questions.
Do I have that right? Is there anything else I should know before we start?
Aslo, how exactly does PBEM work. Do I give my email to the player before me, and get one from the next? does the STMP thingy work? (I could never get it to work myself) Or is there some Realms Beyond way I am unfamiliar with?
Also, How often should I post generally?
