One thing, the dummy saves are generated with RB74 mod (CtH). Shouldn't matter for dummy saves to create our advanced starts, but the real save will need to use RTR mod (assume the version Krill linked earlier in this thred)

I'll sleep on it and post my choices tomorrow

Whoops. I do have both installed and was using RtR at one point today. But yes it should not matter, as long as I use RtR for the final game.

On that note, check your leaders. If you rolled Sid and it impacts your advance start choices, let me know and I can get you a new leader. I'm pretty sure I did not see a Firaxis.

Mod makes a difference for some discounted buildings and units. 74 was based on CtH not RtR. Expansive and Protective both work very differently.

We will need the save regenerating with RtR because of the traits impacting what we can buy with the points.

Yeah sorry about this, it was late-ish and I was very tired when I wrote that it wouldn't impact. Will get them regenerated today with everything else preserved, so you can at least use the extra time to think about your selections.

So...do we actually know which leaders we're playing?

If you hit F4 you can see the portrait of who you rolled.

Ok, question for you all. Are you able to just do your advance start via the save I sent you (wrong mod) and just highlight any discrepancies? For example, one of you made your selections to me and simply pointed out you are owed 10g due to RtR differences. Another made selections that seem to not be impacted at all. Basically my request is you simply do your best with the mod chosen and keep track of discrepancies - for example if you cannot afford a unit that you should be able to afford, call that out and I'll make sure you get it in the real game.

This would help because I found that when I tried to redo it, it shuffled your starting locations between the 5 starting spots. For the PB this is fine as I need to do editing anyway, so I can simply swap players around as needed, especially because I need to account for turn order there. But I'm not quite sure how to make that edit for PBEM in a timely manner.

Also, redoing it involves redoing hut spawn and pop RNG which may be relevant for those who pop one with a city border.

I can work with what I have and do not need a new save.

I have done a start with RtR 6.0.1.3 with my leader so I'm confident with my math on what I can buy (in spite of my current Covid induced exhaustion and fogginess).

I do find myself needing to ask for a bit of a Mulligan though. In my fog last night I placed my capital 1 tile off from where I had intended to and didn't even notice it until after I'd played and was looking at my screenshot posted screenshot in my spoiler thread thread. This means excluding an important food resource from my capital. I did not gain any new map data from my capital plant.

I'm asking if it's ok if I can have my capital on my intended tile (a move of 1 tile) during the edit. smile
