Liberalism already. Pretty cool. This game is over, but I'm just playing it out a bit longer because there's still things to do that could be fun. And yes that's really the only reason. Anyways, Seven's naval choke pissed me off, so I discovered Optics and on the first turn of owning Optics I assembled this:



4 caravels in one turn is pretty decent right? 3 of which will be in range of his stack of Triremes no matter what (yay for Viking speed). Gotta celebrate somehow right? Anyways, I wanted to clear these guys out because I'm about to fire a golden age and I'd like the waters to be clear during that because duh. Colossus/FIN/GA is fun ya know? And that's all there is to play for at this point so fun is the plan.

T88 can't even kill Triremes properly

Aggghhh I lost the first one at 80% odds. Yay me. Then this one is wounded so I elected to cover it with another Caravel rather than attack again. Either way this wins me control of the water so how about I just count my blessings and move on. That's really my only goal here is to control the water, so if I manage to blow that on recklessly losing all 3 caravels then I will be angry. That'll also ruin the golden age I have planned. Anyways, my current reckless abandon has earned me something:

T89 bringeth fun news for a change

Ugh um that's closer than I'd like, but I took it and won. Several more Zerks were in range the following turn anyways so I would have a shot the following turn. I then sprung a golden age. GA demos:



GA probably is a bit premature only because I had whipped my water cities so heavily, but I want it now because we may call this game before too long anyways. So that's it. Killed a city which was fun. Golden age is fun. Depressing to be so far behind even in a GA, but then again, Seven is in a GA still too so it's not THAT bad. Ok yes it is.

Also wait what?? Is that a lurker thread post?? WHERE ARE YOU GUYS IN 34S?? I mean seriously, that's a MUCH better game. Go comment there. If you're commenting in this game's lurker thread it's probably just to make fun of us peons getting crapped on by almighty SevenTimesBetterAtCivThanMe, but at least in 34s I've done a couple good things mixed in with the terrible.

First, posts are posts, beggars can't be choosers . Second, I like having an interesting lurker thread to read after the game. This is why I try to do at least one controversial thing in every game I play.

T90-91 updates posthumously

Ok the game is called, but I have 2 screenshots sitting in my screenshot folder from the last 2 turns, so I'll dump them here. First, one of the many signs of the apocalypse:



Cuirassers. I mean I have pikes and catapults and Guilds shortly and all that, but still worth noting that Seven was apparently about to turn his tech advantage into military and put this thing out of its misery. Also, this most recent turn shows why I just hate blockades:



I know I'm not exactly the first person to point out that blockades are so badly implemented, but think this one through here. He's literally denying me tiles he cannot reach. Also, he's got Astronomy which means the south blockade was about to resume.
