Normal speed was definitely a mistake. I'm fine with ending this game and possibly starting a new one, better suited for testing

No problem ending it or continuing it (though I prefer ending it). I also disliked the map, to some extent. It's definetely playable, though.
By the way, I'm not finding the turn pace so slow. I had some real life problems (like a whole weekend without energy) that slowed things down, but I hope it were not the reason why you find the game to be slow paced. I think I'll sit out of an eventual new game. It's obvious that I can't handle this competition (and I suck at reporting - sorry about that -, so I shouldn't be playing a test game).
Well, I don't think normal speed was a mistake. There are two primary problems that have caused the abysmal turn pace in my view:
1) Ichabod should not be before yuris in the turn order. There's been maybe twenty times where we would have gained twelve hours on the turn had it been the reverse. 2) dtay's claim of "I can play anytime that I'm awake" actually means "I'm not sure when I can play." That's a big difference and not good for PBEMs. I am enjoying the game still, but I definitely agree that the map has severe problems and I really don't know how Brick missed them. So I'm quite disappointed with that.

Ichabod before me might've been correct, but my play times were less frequent and less predictable while I was on holiday. We still made a turn a day almost always, but that's not fast enough for a normal speed game
Well, we've had 55.5 turns in 51 days. Given that the start was considerably faster, we definitely weren't making a turn a day almost always.

I'm fine to continue but will certainly defer to the rest i you want to stop / restart. Especially if Seven feels its not an effective test, since that's the whole point in the first place.
Sorry about somewhat misleading statement, its on-face true (as in I can play whenever while awake) while I'm at school (now), and mostly while I'm break as well (before Jan 26th), there was just a week and a half (Jan 2nd-11th) where I was away traveling which made my playtimes substantially more erratic.
Fear cuts deeper than swords.
Since nobody feels strongly about continuing, sounds like the game is best called done then.

I'm wondering if a few duels might be the best way to test this mod. I could potentially be interested in that. It lets you get through a game much quicker, and if you do a mirrored map, it can make the comparison/contrast between the traits much more interesting.

Good game. Any comments on balance from the part of the game we played? I've been looking at CHA longingly all game. But I don't know how much of that is not having any happiness resources vs the trait being too good. |
