I don't understand why you'd assume peace over ceasefire though? It would be trivial for dtay to use enforced peace and his more flexible schedule to alpha-strike seven of our cities the same way we wanted to do to him... And we also had no desire for him to roll over you (although I'm sure he wouldn't have been dumb enough to try that).

I didn't think you'd be planning on defending against clock games and at the end of the war I think I had the highest power by 10%. I wasn't concerned from the time Willow Lake was captured of getting crushed by dtay. Could have lost a few cities on defense but it would have just been a war of attrition.

Nah, I would not call it being afraid of clock games. Dtay just happened to have the first split, which could have created problems.

And yeah, one typically just assumes straight peace and does not bother checking the foreign adviser (whether 10 turns of enforced peace is visible there).
