If he could do that he would have done it already without sunrise playing his turn. The fact that he hasn't suggests that sunrise doesn't have an coastal tiles to do it in.

Looking at the MM, I could have EE settled by t77, ie in 6 turns including this turn, from a settler built in CC on t74 (overflowing 60 hammers from the worker 8 build and one chop).
Assuming that vulture is the nearest one to me, it would still be 2 tiles away at that point after moving, and I would have a HA slaved out of DD in time to whack any unit that got too near to EE, in addition to at least 2 chariots from AA and BB, possibly more if I wanted them.
If he goes for Hun, or waits for a spear, I'll have all those forests chopped into a terrace for greater visibility and another chariot before he gets there...and an extra chariot from DD on overflow, so I'll have odds on anything save spears, and enough units to just smack the stack if it enters my borders.
Hmm. And can Kalin wait to add Hun to his empire? I think he'll capture it t75 at the latest, most likely t74, as warriors aren't exactly great defenders against Vultures. He needs the cities

Impressive growth curve. Do you reckon you'll be expanding as fast as possible until there is no more land, or will you have to slow down for economic reasons?

Depends on if the Lins attack or not. If they don't, I can easily see us growing to 10 cities, maybe up to around 15, by t100 ie to around where the western most warior is. I don't think we'd have any major economic worries, as we'd be working nothing but cottages and food in all of those cities, and slaving/chopping for infrastructure.
If they do attack, it'll be a slower growth curve, as we'll need around 4-6 chariots and a half as many again HA to defend EE, but when you consider that we can slave out/build most of that before t80 (AA is on 2 turn chariots atm, after the first chariot has gone west to scout out the north), it's not exactly going to slow us down much. But that gives us time to road to the new city sites from AA/CC area, and cottage at FF, so with the extra worker preperation, the cities would get up pretty fast,

Very crude effort at sowing decension within the ranks of the UTA:
Quote:7:34 PM Krill: Hi mate, got a moment to chat about the RB game?
Broker: sure
7:35 PM mate? You aussie?
Krill: heh
English
We were saying that aeons before they were
Broker: I could be rude and say close enough
Krill: ah
Broker: American humor
Krill: Well
You share a common ancestor
so you are related anyway
:P
7:36 PM I just wanted to relay a message to you, that I got from the Lins
Broker: My boss is from scottland I always comment on her irish accent
Krill: haha
awesome
Hi Gentlemen,
I have noticed you have a quechua close to our borders. In the light
of the incident with sunrise earlier in the game, I feel uncomfortable
about having it so close. So uncomfortable that if it moves further
south I will attack and destroy it. I would therefore appreciate if
you moved it back N.
Kalin
7:37 PM I recieved that message after a scouting quechua uncovered the Lins borders, and a vulture poped up next to it
I recieved it sometime yesterday,
Broker: Little more abrubt than I would have been
Krill: Well, what can I say
we are all differnet
7:38 PM Broker: No I meant he was
Krill: it was only a woody 1 quechua though
Oh, I know
and in the fullness of time, here was the reply
7:39 PM if gmail will load the next page..
Well hello, first time we have heard from you in a long time. And with threatening letters, too.
We find it quite amusing that after deciding to stay away from your borders, to not threaten any workers you had, you stumble upon us with a vulture, and you feel threatened.
Well, let us allay your fears, with an offer of an NAP until t90. You can try to attack us with vultures if you want. Sufficed to say you will not be getting a threatening letter if we see those on our borders. We'll just smash them.
Kril
Yes, I was equaly abrupt
perhaps moreso
Broker: tone was already set
7:40 PM Krill: true
but still, I could have been magnamous
the counter offer was this:
an NAP until t100
so long as I didn;t expand more than 6 tiles south of my captial
7:41 PM now, what I am about to say you wil have to take on trust
until regoarrarr can say it is true
but my capital is 4 tiles from the northern edge of the map
I'll email you the chat now
7:42 PM sent to gmail account
Broker: got it
Krill: I know you guys in the 5 way alliance are a close knit group[
7:43 PM but I have sent the past day thinking about wether I should send my side of the story to you
*spent
I figured you'll make your own decisions
so I might as well give you the full story
7:44 PM Also, you told me you are fairly far south
Broker: I appriciate the info...still reading
about 10 tiles from the southern edge
Krill: Well, Kalin basically demanded slightly more than 2/3 of the land between us by distance
by total land area, closer to 75%
7:45 PM Broker: Conversation digressed at the end
Krill: oh yeah
1v1 he can't beat me
7:46 PM no chance in hell
2v1 with sunrise, I'm not woried
do you, regoarrarr, and ZPV really want to go to war with me
?
Broker: I am sure I dont worry you
Krill: yeah
Sory, mate, you you don't
7:47 PM I hope I don;t worry you though.
Broker: Well if you were on my border....you would
Navy's there is that big ocean lake...
right this moment...not so much
7:48 PM Krill: Well, we are at opposite ends of the world
both have not alot to do with each other
makes sense
Broker: Probably equally crappy land
Krill: pobably
*probably
if things had turned out differently, we could have tried to split Dreylin in half
7:49 PM alas, not to be
still doesn't mean I think as you as an enemy for the entire game
just that right now we aren't on the same side
Broker: I dont believe I have done anything agressive.
Krill: True
7:50 PM you do have a cleaner record than me
OTOH, you have alot more allies than me, and a lot greater choices to build
Broker: Other than a long tundra march I have secure borders yes.
7:51 PM Krill: Ah
so I take it you can only expand north?
Broker: Mostly... My UB makes some tundra sites viable
Krill: ah
7:52 PM Broker: 75% reduction in maintainance is helpful
Krill: I hope that the Lins gave you more than half the land between you
yup
otherwise they seem to be going for a collosal land grab
the majority of land between me and them, as well as a lot of land with you
Broker: I am happy with the split
7:53 PM Krill: cool
I'd be hapy with a 50/50 split
alas.
Well
I gave you the pertinent facts.
I suppose I should let you digest them
Broker: Thank you I always appriciate information
Krill: np
7:54 PM feel free to spread it around with sunrise, regoarrarr and ZPV
Broker: Will do
Krill: thanks

so, ruff has declared on ZPV, about to steal 2 workers that ZPV can't save, but he has to wait until 4 hours 50 on the clock. Simply because of the double move rule (quoted below).
Quote:* (a) - All settler moves that result in ending a turn in neutral territory must occur 9 hours (in-game) after the last movement of that settler, if applicable.
(b) - Any civilization declaring war must wait 9 hours from the war declaration to move any military units.
© - During a war all units in enemy or neutral territory, and all units in friendly territory that are capable of attacking or defending versus enemy units at any point during the turn must wait at least 9 hours following any previous move before they may move again.
(d) - When in doubt, act in good faith.
OK, first time I'm looking at this properly. You have to declare, then wait 9 hours to move, but why? Right now ZPV can't save the workers, so we are just waiting for no reason. Stupid implementation if it causes us to sit around for no reason...it has nothing to do with a double move. ruff said he was going to raise this issue later, and I'm fully behind him on it. It really needs changing.
Also, I'm happy that a leading competitor is getting screwed over to going paper military. It should also help Shadyforce somewhat as well, giving him time to get HA up and running.
Ah, the past 5 days has really jumbled this game up

Messeges between Kalin and Me/Memphus. Conclusions underneath (and don;t judge until you read the whole post).
Kalin Wrote:> 18:48 oh and message from Memphus
> he is asking if you are on drugs
You can tell Memphus that I found his comment offensive.
Kalin
Krill Wrote:Memphus finds your lack of knowledge of our current power offensive and asking if you are on a drugs was more polite than asking if you understand basic arithematic. And that is a direct quote.
Personally I'm enjoying the pissing match. But when you decide to take it out on us in game I will enjoy winning after you ignored our diplomatic efforts, but that'll be on you head, not mine.
Krill
Kalin Wrote:> Memphus finds your lack of knowledge of our current power offensive and

I think both statements are arrogant and offensive, as has been your
attitude lately. If you thought I lack knowledge maybe you can help
educate me. I was hoping to be able to still have a civil dialog
despite our differences in the game, but it seems it may not be
possible which is unfortunate...
Kalin
Krill Wrote:We offered you an NAP, short term, that favoured you. We have offered you an NAP until t120 in the past. We have tried to be nice to you, but you have ignored us when it suited you, and you only deigned to speak to us with threats. As soon as you find horses adjacent to one of our cities you demand that you settle up to us, that we stay locked away from you while you prepare to invade us. You have demanded that we cede to you the majority of the land between us, and for what?
Yes, the remarks we have made in reply may be arrogant, and offensive, but you should look at your own actions, and frankly insane diplomatic offers and consider whether they were provoked. We are going to take the piss along as you continue to be bullish whilst onerous.
Personally, I don't think you have a hope in hell against us, and I would consider it a smart act of self preservation on your part to back down and keep what you have, while you still can. Is that arrogant? Possibly, but it's also realistic. While the words may sting your ego and feelings, the wise man knows when he is beat.
We are still willing to negoitiate an NAP with you, so long as you are reasonable. You know where we can be contacted.
Krill
Normally, normally I wouldn't have even bothered sending that last snippet. However, I was feeling slightly belligerent due to a couple of pints (minor point), and quite frankly his diplomatic hot headedness pissed me off (kudos for sooooo for alluding to that earlier). You try to do someone a favour and they choose to stab you in, well, maybe not the back, but you get the picture? I just can't get what Kalin thinks. Maybe if they were Oracling Construction...but damn they're cutting that fine.
EDIT: 2 extra messages while writing this post:
Kalin Wrote:I didn't threaten you, on the contrary I moved my warrior away from
your border when you asked for it. My comments regarding your quechua
on our borders were simply in reply to the fact that you did steal
sunrise's worker at the beginning of the game in an opportunistic
move! I expect you'd do the same with us if given a chance which I
will not give you.
I find it amusing that you accuse me of being bullish, when the exact
opposite is true as your email clearly shows.

Krill Wrote:Swing and miss dude, swing and miss. I take it that you obviously don't want the NAP? Because if anything you are being the aggressive one by choosing to "die trying", to quote yourself.

You are full of... words.
I am willing to continue to negotiate a NAP, but your terms were not acceptable.
Kalin
Krill Wrote:You demand that we not settle south of Demon dirt, a city 6 tiles from our capital. That gives you all tiles in a 13 tile radius from your capital. You are deluded if you think that is acceptable, especially because we can't expand north, our capital is on the northern edge of the map.
Then factor in the fact that you can't stop us settling that city before you even get close to it with a single unit, and you really think you are taking a reasonable line? Tactically your attempts to do anything with or against us are completely laughable.
Dude, get a brain.
