pling Wrote:Pirates whipped and grew with no power changes and no pop changes on the demos so they now have a size 1 capital and a shiny new settler (as plako saw) plus a size 2 second city.

Pirates now have a third city, looks like they settled the coastal location with Copper. City's named Port Royal.

Power is difficult to sort out this turn. Gillette's graphs might help, tho I think that won't show up till they've played next turn. Pirates graphs would definitely help after next turn but I dunno how close to getting them we are.

Known things: TEAM lost 2 pop to a whip, losing 1k power for top rival.

Pirates settled a third city and grew their second city to size 2. That added 1k power to bottom rival (and that's 24k which is the same power Gillette had last turn hence some of the problems with figuring out the rest).

Still to account for: 8k soldiers.

Pirates got a tech, which might be Hunting which would use up 2k soldiers, but it might also be Pottery (they got Wheel last, on T37) or Fishing. I'm tentatively saying it's Hunting but once I have seen their graphs and have an idea of their GNP then maybe I will reconsider.

So 6k of soldiers in units, which must be split between Pirates & Menagerie leaving Gillette on 24k still at the bottom of the power graph. Makes a bit of sense, given that the others are in a war & Gillette are coasting along with their farmer's gambit intact. cry

I'm going to suggest that Pirates built another Quechua and Menagerie built a Chariot or 2 Warriors. Also possible is Menagerie built an Axe and Pirates didn't build anything.

Other news:

Pirates new city has 5 land tiles first ring, makes sense with novice's suggestion of coastal copper. Which would make Fishing make sense as their tech meaning another 2k of units to account for ... in which case my preferred guess for the units built would be Menagerie built an Axe & Pirates built a Quechua.

After TEAM and M3 have played T44:

TEAM's score went as follows: +23 for land from 20 turns ago; -4 for whipped pop; +6 for a tech. So TEAM whipped something, probably in Pitboss3 (as it finished something this turn). Whipping would remove 1k soldiers from their total. So as they have 2k more than last turn that's actually a 3k increase. I reckon they whipped another Archer.

Tech ... Fishing, perhaps? Or Mysticism. Or Pottery. Or Masonry. At the moment I'm inclined towards Fishing, but that's subject to change smile Edit: I've already changed my mind, it's taken them 6 turns to research whatever it was & Hunting (same price as Fishing) only took 6 turns at the start of the game so that seems too long a time for Fishing now. Pottery perhaps?

M3's score went up 16 points, which is a Wonder - I asked plako to check & yes, they've built Stonehenge. So the tech they researched T40 was actually Mysticism and they still don't have Agri.

Most of what happened I've discussed in the post above. Only other news of the turn is that Gillette grew their second city to size 2.

TEAM have (7 or) 8 hammers into something in Pitboss3.

TEAM's power went up 2k, no score increase so I'm putting that down as a Warrior - presumably built in their second city. That makes 2 archers & 2 warriors we can't see. And we think they have a settler on the loose that has possibly been walking somewhere for 2 turns (produced EOT43). Do we have units that can go have a little look at where we want to put the next city, just in case?

Nothing else to report.

TEAM now have (10 or) 11 hammers in Pitboss3, and the only power change was that Warrior being disbanded.

Shame, I wanted us to hit with our Axe frown

TEAM disbanded their Warrior, as already said.

Menagerie whipped their capital from size 4 to 2 then regrew immediately to size 3. They also researched a tech which I'm tentatively suggesting is Agriculture. And their capital's borders popped to 3rd ring gaining them 16 tiles of land.

Gillette's capital grew to size 4.

There is 3k power left to assign - TEAM lost 2k and are top power, Gillette gained 1k and are bottom power, the other two have gone up by 3k. There aren't any 3k techs, neither of them have 3k units available, Menagerie's whipping didn't change their population related power (their second city is size 1 so total pop has changed from 5 to 4). So I think this must be a Barracks. I'm going to tentatively assign this to Pirates, I think Menagerie are more likely to've whipped a Settler. I need to look at the two cities of Pirates that we have visibility on to see if they finished anything last turn tho. Roll on getting Pirates graphs wink

Pitboss3 has 14 or so hammers in something. Their warrior is sat on the cows south of Caipirinha, now.

Pirates haven't finished anything in either of their cities that we have visibility on, and the other is shiny new. So I guess it is Menagerie with the barracks, instead. I'll re-assign it that way anyway.

And TEAM have had a power increase of either 3k or 8k. Menagerie have had a power increase of either 10k or 5k (in matching order, and presuming they got the 3k last turn, if not then it's 13k and 8k).

TEAM grew their second city to size 3, which is 1k of the soldiers. They got a tech, but the only soldier points one left is Sailing and it seems a bit soon after their last tech (T44) for that to be Fishing->Sailing. So either 2k or 7k worth of units/buildings. Menagerie have no pop & no tech to take up any of the soldiers. I can't really tell what's what till I see TEAM's graphs next turn (ie T48).
