Krill, you're slightly less mysterious because you post more. I don't think anyone wants to take being evil away from you. Aside from drinking, it's kind of your thing. smile

Also, if possible, can we move away from the OCC and other divergent/variant type stuff? This is hard enough to get going without lots of distractions. I think it is pretty safe to assume that a large number of players will not be interested in that type of game and the whole point of this game is to have a large game with lots of players. THAT is this game's variant. Thanks!

Right, you're more evil, less mysterious.

We should definitely run an OCC game at some point though!

Edit- But I agree, this isn't the best event for OCC

Yeah, that insane PB5 report with the complete Cartesian product of turns cross cities left very little mystery! Sorry, you win by being a genius micromanager and tactician, not by coming out of nowhere and rolling over games with poorly understood evil powers.

No matter what you think of the thematic changes in RBMod, the civs and leaders are much more balanced for a game like this or else you still give a massive advantage to India / Inca / Pacal / Willem.

There are a few folks who can't/don't want to play mod games. We could balance a list of BTS leader/civ pairings by ranking the leaders and civs and assigning the worst leaders to the best civs and vice versa, so you end up with:
- Tokugawa of India
- Churchill of Inca
- Sitting Bull of Egypt
- Qin Shi Huang of France
...
- Willem of HRE
- Pacal of America
etc

Then because this wouldn't be perfectly balanced the lurkers rank the combos and the players and you end up with:
- Mackoti as Charadon of the Doviello
- Krill as Decius of the Calabim
etc

Sounds fun? twirl

Depending on when this starts I may or may not sign up (crazy, interesting idea vs lack of time). I like the idea of no map trading to keep the world as mysterious as possible but I wonder if my machine could cope with a bigger map than PB13 - it's pretty laggy already there and we're not even at the industrial era yet.

Yes, I also was wondering about the PC hardware issue. Even on a top end PC, Civ IV is not really optimised to run that well.
