Plain busy at the moment. Some unexpected work that had to be done immediately. I will play different too than last time, but the delay wasn't due to that at all. Had a look through the posts but it seems everyone has been mostly roleplaying anyway and only now there are inklings of starting.

How did you play last time and how are you planning on playing this time?

thrawn was a villager last time and this time he's a wolf. Pretty clearly holding back. Even if he was going to play differently as a villager it would have been more than he's doing now.

I pay absolutely no attention to first half of first day vote totals.  If we lynch someone who has 5 votes on day 1 they either posted "I am scum" or the village is filled with idiots and deserve what they get.  I read posts, I check for tone, I vote.  I can't believe I'm getting roped into vote justifying at this early stage but:

Vote Commodore - very in character both as House and Gaspar to vote for the stupid dolphin and Commodore, respectively.  It was an opening vote, it means less than nothing.
Vote Meiz - Based entirely on how uninquisitive he was on day 1.  Meiz is an awesome villager, when he's not being an awesome villager, I'm suspicious.
Vote novice - post was scummy

I'm only responding to this because you don't sound scummy, just silly.  Stop wasting my and the rest of these idiots' time looking for something worthwhile in vote patterns right now.  Try reading someone and seeing how it conforms/doesn't conform to what you expect from them/scum.  That's how you catch villains, not by playing color by numbers when we have no colors or numbers yet.  That's just scribbling.

I don't like this, Jerry!  Tone checks are a weak substitution for analysis or evidence to begin with, and are essentially equivalent to going with your gut!  That's a real Kramer move.  They're also lazy profiling, and I REFUSE to be profiled!  For example, some people are always worked up about something, maybe because their life is an ongoing, never-ending, situationally comedic catastrophe!  It doesn't mean anything!  In fact, it's particularly meaningless to check for tone when almost everyone is doing their best to impersonate a wacky cast of oddballs!

I was at work!  The Mets aren't going to manage themselves!  Or was it the Yankees?  Was I an accountant?  The fashion catalogue was Elaine, right?  It all runs together...

I mean, I was occupied!  But now I'm back, and focused as Master of my Domain!  

My contribution was partly role play and partly true life catching up with me. I had to overwork two days in row and my friends asked me to drink together 2 days in row and I couldn't say no.
My vote for sunrise and you were purely for role play reasons and now I cast honest vote for my 1st day: no lynch because due my busy life I don't have time to properly read other's posts.
I already said in sign up thread that it might my mistake to sign in. I finally shall have time properly read other's posts and respond them at weekend. Now I am going to bed, very tired and need to get up tomorrow early again.

Alhambram is clearly not the Master of his, though!  I like this least of all, Jerry!  Least of anything!  "No Vote" on Day 1 is the scummiest you can be, short of a confession!   I don't like tone checks!  Most Day 1 votes are jokes or late-breaking bandwagons!  But anything is more useful than deliberately denying the village it's first opportunity to collect real evidence!  This is still in character, Jerry!

If Gaspar can look at where the state of the game was when Meiz made his four posts and point out a specific opportunity "awesome villager" Meiz passed up then I'll consider this settled. But what it looks like to me is a wolf-Gaspar picked someone with lots of posts and who was getting a little heat and piled on without taking the time to read closely enough to know whether there was any actual substance for Meiz or anyone else to scum-hunt on when the vote was put out there. Because why does Gaspar need to read those posts closely...he already knows who the wolves are

Lazy scum?  I mean, Omar impressed  a dolphin that can talk.  Didn't know that was in the skill set of porpoises.  But have you said a single thing longer than one line all game, dolphin?  Lots of block quotes.  Bunch of vote flips.  Keeping that post count up, real artificial and such.  Pots and kettles, Flip.  Omar got his eye on you too.  

But like Omar said, target be a target cause he a junkie.  Target stay a target cause he suspicious.  Strangest thing I saw all game was Doc changing his vote right after you to jump on Bee-boy after Doc had the most early votes.  Maybe self-preservation, but usually junkies ain't real self-preserving, you feel.  And now you back on him again?  Not sure if you just came to your senses about Doc, or if you keep moving on and off when convenient.

I dont honestly remember what novices question was but any answer will have to wait for a non-mobile response. My recollection is that he always thinks I'm scum anyway.

As far as sunrise, I play by feel. I don't expect everyone to agree with my methods but I don't play worrying about what others think. I voted for Meiz because I just watched Meiz play two games where he's either inquisitive or trying to lead the village from minute one. He didn't do that here. Im not judging him against your baseline, I'm judging him against his. Period.

I don't have anything exciting to add beyond that. I still maintain novices original post as scummy but he's seemed novicey since then. I don't like GESs posts. I dont like Commodore posts and I don't like Lewwyns posts. I really like WKs posts but they aren't helping. But I agree that thrawn feels like he's trying too hard.

Thrawn, you mentioned in advance that your play will be different this time. That doesn't explain your single read this game being Kaiser for not participating enough. Who do you want to kill at this point?

I personally don't like the idea of voting Alhambram, because as I understood he will not be responding before deadline(?). Bob, what do you think and who would be your second choice for lynching?

Gaspar's vote switch was from very early day, and therefore IMO a very null tell. There is no need for any self-preservation at that point of the game. Yet that seems to be your main argument for suspecting him. Anything else in Gaspar's play that have made you suspicious?

Jabbz, why are you voting Commodore? You seems to take a general "fuck if I know" stance for day 1, but there should be some comments from any notable players so far. Do you think Gaspar is more town or scum? Sunrise? Novice? Others?

Heh, I was just coming in here to say basically this. I generally have a Lewwyn agnostic position on day one, as I've stated many times before, so when I read him a little off, I just let it lie until we have at least a day under our belts. I do this because I know I'm predisposed to think him scummy and I'd rather wait until my scumdar is calibrated.

I'm having a hard time today, tbh. I'm not sure if its the roleplay or if its something else but the last couple games I've read the scum just lept off the page at me. I find myself today grasping at stuff - novice's post was a scummy thing to do but he's seemed relatively useful since then; Commodore is irritating me but its probably because he's Commodore or because he's roleplaying a dolphin; I find myself glossing over the posts who are RP'ing characters I'm not familiar with; thrawn feels fake but I'm not sure if its because he's trying too hard because he caught flack in the last game or if its because he's scum.

I'll have to do a re-read but I don't really love hunting that way, I prefer it to occur more naturally. And I really don't like doubting myself. I seem to recall the first RP game pissing me off too, so maybe that is it.

Also GES's stuff is so lazy it hurts my head but I can't get annoyed with him because he's RP'ing a character I really like. And generally, people who aren't Rowain who annoy me usually are scum. So I keep thinking he's not scum because he's not annoying me but he's probably not annoying me because he's really just making me want to re-watch the wire.
