Obviously without knowing what you did I can't tell you where you switched away from his playthrough, but it looks like you were going for the his Plan 1A and that post outlines Plan 1B. Is MP or IC limiting you?

I'm currently crossing a point-of-no-return in the game, but according to the very nice people in the Steam forums there are multiple such moments, and I've still got at least a few missions to go (I had asked to make sure I wasn't missing any optional missions before advancing the plot). Assuming that's the case, and they each take as long as the average run, I'd say it's maybe a few hours longer than the DMS campaign? It's def. at least the same length, if you do the optional runs (there are several this time around).
Replay value should be better as well, there are a lot more optional / alternative mission solutions and dialogue checks based on different stats which you won't be able to meet in any single run. Charisma actually doesn't suck this time around for non-mages! There is also apparently a secret mission for Deckers which I missed, since I haven't invested any points in the skill.

Well, it's a hybrid of the two - I'm reinforcing the existing 37 3x Inf divisions with 1x Art each, then building as many 3x Inf 1x Art divisions as I can. The greater proportion of Inf brigades should make this scheme IC-cheaper than his 1B. Yet I'm finding myself IC-limited rather than MP-limited, as his AAR claimed to be.
A thought: should I be building everything in brigades instead of divisions, so differences in infantry and artillery practicals don't slow down the production of the composite divisions? Kanitation didn't indicate how he built his divisions.

He's finishing his infantry complement in Jan '38. It does seem that most of his serial queues are brigades, but he does have two sets of infantry divisions in there.

My greedy algorithm for 2048 that I developed at work.
You can get pretty far doing this. Usually it craps out around 512 because this strategy tend to lead to formations of high numbers in the bottom middle 2x2 slots.

Finished the game off last night. I guess the campaign is about 15 hours, if you do all the optional missions and talk to everyone every time the story advances. The writing is consistently fantastic, some of the best I've read in an RPG. There are a couple Big Choices to make starting with the penultimate run which determine what ending you get, so there's def. more reason to replay than with the DMS story.
I recommend it; it reminded me a lot of a Bioware RPG from before Bioware became a parody of itself.
Edit: I should also add that one of the endings allows you to go hilariously off the rails, which is a nice change from DMS resolving the same way regardless of your decisions.
