Ilios Wrote:Nervous, backpedalling Tempest queen Wrote:Ilios,
A spy came to me today, by the name of Falamar. Although i might be the queen of pirates, i trust him with many practical manners. Today, he whispered about the news that the Calabrim and Balseraphs stacks have been wiped out, and thus i have no more fear of being attacked by those vampires and clowns anymore. Is this true? Because if that's the case, I see no reason why i should accede to their demands that i attack you anymore.
Amelia
So, because the Calabim stack has been completely destroyed, Darrell is assuming the Balseraph stack is dead as well.
Oh, the possibilities...
Apparently Ilios has confused Falamar (the other Lanun leader) with Flauros (the Calabim leader in this game). Oh, the possibilities...

Darrell is assuming that the Balseraph stack has been wiped out though. By the time the turn came back to him, all his units were dead, and he has absolutely no way of knowing whether Serdoa lost all his units or retreated.

This whole exchange has been extremely entertaining as a lurker. But yes, Ilios taking the Amelia RP back-out to mean that Darrell is responsible is hilarious, since its true. Question for the group, since I obviously can't ask the protagonist: If you were Ilios, would you see more value in killing Saverous or in having him flung against the Vamps? My gut feeling is the latter, but given he just witnessed Amelia's lack of coordination, I might be inclined to the former. With Saverous dead and no coastal holdings of import, the Lanun are basically 0 threat to him for a very long time. If he lets Saverous live, there's always a chance he can eventually be used well against him.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

I don't see Saverous being terribly useful against either civ, frankly. Each of the potential targets has disposable summons that can hammer Saverous and make him vulnerable to their highly-promoted normal units. Darrell doesn't actually have the highly-promoted units yet, but he will by the time Saverous arrives.

Yeah, that's true. I forgot about that.
I don't think killing Saverous is really worth anything, but the axe he carries is.

Hmmm. Looks like Ilios may beat uberfish to the GLib by half a turn, barring any rushing. And likely to AV too, with his superior GNP and all.

Illos's estimate includes connecting the marble. See capital screenshot in post #321 - it can't be a four turn build w/o marble. Since a 'Barbarian' Giant Spider would kill the workers there should be a delay. For some reason, neither side seems to consider trading for marble with Sciz (the Ygg city has it). Has Sciz connected it yet?
That said, I think uberfish would nevertheless get GLib first: He starts at t112 and estimates a 5 turn build so EOT 116. Illos starts at t114 (assuming marble, and after rushing a library at En-Kai) and estimates a 4 turn build so EOT 117. Wasting a turn on Military Strategy was clearly an unnecessary mistake...
