Received it also, but could not play till now. Also according to my C&D someone has the wrong techs. We should have two players with 4000 soldier points (Ichabod - Wheel; Kyan - Hunting, Mining) yet I am 2nd rank with 2000. So either Ichabod didn't get Wheel but instead either Hunting or Mining or Kyan didn't get Hunting or Mining. Kyan will get the save in 10 minutes to check, Ichabod maybe you can check already on the old save.
Of course maybe I'm just doing my C&D wrong, but in this case I don't think I'm wrong.

AHHH, why did I have Persia as Ag/Wheel? Oh, right, I thought it had the best techs, but that was not the best techs overall but for my start. My bad, sorry.

I just checked game settings and it doesn't say no events.

Regardless of the potential problem, I have ended turn and sent to Ichabod.

Problem fixed. I hacked Ichabod's save to enable the "No random events" option.
