Translating CtH

Yes, only the english part is reliable and should be translated into every other language.

I translated all the text without Programation signs. In those i really need to understand the context and what is apearing so i dont put plural when its singular and things like that.

I ll ask Gira for some feedback and lets see if he likes my translation

Trying to follow the official terms may be consistent but also makes CTH translation harder to understand and read aweful. The official translation is that bad.

My favourite part of the official German translation was that the "Power" category on the Demographics screen became "Electricity".

I didn't think the translation was atrocious on the whole, but I haven't fired up Civ4 in German (or English) in years.

Just added a column with explanations. Hopefully those help a bit to understand the text

I will write some short 'pedia entries for the new buildings and units, which can then be translated.

About the Minuteman, it is indeed one word and I'm not sure it can or should be translated. It is basically a name and names are generally not translated even if they are meaningful. The German Wikipedia entry for Minutemen does not attempt to translate the word, for example.

I also corrected the (English) capitalization for the new game options, which I've been wanting to ask for anyway.

Imr eally curious to know what happens on spain, "we" usually translate even names. For example, on BTS if you set the language into spanish you will see that Mali's leader is called Kankan Musa on spanish instead of Mansa Musa. I had hard times when i started reading this forum because of it. People was talking about Mansa and i thought it was a member of the comunity xD.

But i guess everyone does it, for example the UB of Spain is "ciudadela" on spanish instead of Citadel

Mansa is not a name, it's a title, so that would get translated. We always call him that because it sounds like a name, but it's really like calling someone "King" or "Lord".

In English, we would talk about Queen Isabella, not Reina.

In spanish is Isabel not Isabella either way xD

But i mean that on Spanish is "Federico" instead of Fredick, so its also translated the name. I dont think its a big deal in any case.

Also Charriu, i dont know if "%s2_Name" includes the article or i should put it. Same with the rest of programed signs.

i guess its not too bad, and we could get some type of DEMO version so we could make bug fixes for the translation right?
