I know great people do. I am not sure about the parts...

Are the AI free techs on top of what they usually have, or do they replace the usual starting techs?

What are the rules on drafting?

Each AI starts with Fishing, The Wheel, Agriculture, Hunting, Mysticism, and Mining, so they have each been given 4 bonus start techs. You are unrestricted in your approach, though do note that not all victory types are allowed...for the player.

I didn't check on parts or G People, but I don't consider it spoilerish to post that information here.

Great People do count on the "Built" list, including free ones on the tech tree (not sure about free ones from random events.) Oddly, free missionaries do not count as "built".

Spaceship components are not listed.

Sum up the "lost" list with the current military from the military advisor. This should include drafted units as well and might be a viable work around.

I don't mind the lack of spaceship parts since there are only a few. Consider it a handicap for going the space route. But the drafting issue is a serious loophole: Drafted units should count as "built" (Firaxis...ahem). I'm glad you caught this early.

So, we'll have to modify the counting algorithm for draftable units from "Built" to "Current" + "Lost".

There's probably a way to game this by drafting and then upgrading, but I'll have to do a little research to see for sure. (If draftable units only upgrade to other draftable types, the new algorithm will work. If not, please don't abuse this.)

There's at least one exception to your conjecture: Grenadier can upgrade to Machine Gun. I don't see any others though I could be wrong.

I may have to find the thread for the LK series game as Babylon where we drafted our nation to death to achieve domination.
