Edit: For those reading this thread from the beginning, there is a rule clarification that is arrived at in the discussion that follows. (This is my first post in this thread, so I'm putting the information here.)

Rule clarification:
For this event, drafted units count as "builds." If you draft, you can either 1) keep track of how many units you draft, or 2) use the "Current" + "Lost" counting system for conscriptable units (and upgrades). Option 2 is preferred if you do more than a handful of drafts.

Quality Assurance:
When the event closes, if you find that your total is reasonably close to someone else's, please doublecheck your numbers so we can get a fair tally.

The challenge of the variant is clear. Building little units with aggressive AI is the clearly the conflict to resolve.

I am not sure if I will play as I am not that far into Epic 19. In addition, I have a bad feeling about goal of the bonus start for the AIs...

This game is unclassified. But with the ... ahem... spoil... err... speculations already posted, I don't think anyone should expect a particularly easy stroll in the park.

Most RB games actually fall outside those two groups. Generally Monarch or Emperor level games, with or without variants, are just games. Settings that are significantly easier or much harder are "Gentle" or "Extreme"

This looks like an interesting idea. Two questions:

Are the AI free techs on top of what they usually have, or do they replace the usual starting techs?

What are the rules on drafting?
