We're probably going to move the Q (recently renamed to "Wandering Minstrel #1") to the NE. Thoughts are it's either a dead end, in which case it isn't a long diversion and we'll have plenty of time to bring him back to circle around looking for city sites, or it's a route to another land mass and we can meet someone (and I'll start thinking this is a little like a ring map for no reason).
Update on city#2, we're looking at getting it down between t40 and t44 at the site 1S of the crabs, with minimum 3 workers beforehand. We need at least 2 at the cap, and another to chop out the terrace and wb at the new city...damn, it's slow, but we don't have alot of choice, as both starting techs were the worst possible ones for this start. If we'd started with Fishing and Mining...

BTW, here is some assorted info:
Memphus isn't posting because he can't connect here from work (which is decent really, I'd take that for the ability to play CIV there), so I get to post the general decisions and thoughts.
The naming conventions for the cities is first city initials = AA, second city = BB, third = CC...etc, but EE, NN, SS, WW won;t be used so we don't screw up directions. The names of the cities are going to change randomly (currently the cap is named Alpha Arcturus. Tomorrow I'll probably rename it to And Another?) No reason to do this other than for fun and if people want to suggest a name we'll likely incorporate it at some point We have no plans for any other names, so if you want to suggest them we'll definately think about them.
The pace the game is going at is pretty nice, currently me and Memphus are both playing the turns as they come up. I'm generally trying to play a turn in the morning around 7-8 am GMT+1, and between 4pm and 10 pm GMT+1, and Memphus has the rest. It works pretty well because we both have combined access to civstats then for about 21 hours, and can play at any time of the day except 0500 to 0700 and 1100 to 1430 GMT+1, and we can both chat between 1600 and 2200, 6 hours being enough to discuss everything in the game.
So, any questions?
PS. Asking what turn we plan to have stuff like workers, work boats, techs and settlers isn't a leading question here: we've already volunteered the infomation, and I will attempt to update it, although maybe not as best I can, so if you want to know just ask and I'll get on it, and try to give you a good answer asap. Sufficed to say we aren't going for anything that is turn dependent such as the Oracle or a religion.

Sounds like fun! Perhaps the capital should be Alas Alack at some point because of your starting techs not matching up well with your start location.

Well, some things are leading questions, whether any of us want them to be or not. If you're trying to decide whether to whip a settler for a site between you and a neighbor, and right around the time you're deciding, I come by to post, "What exact turn will you found that city?" ... it's a leading question. Even if you try to ignore it or assume it doesn't mean anything, it's extra information you shouldn't have from in the game. (To whit: The exact turn for this event is interesting!) If I ask questions like that repeatedly, and some or (especially!) all of them turn out to be about locations/wonders/religions/whatever for which someone turns out to have been racing you, it's little better than showing up in your thread to say, "Hi, somebody else is trying to beat you to Project X, and it's going to be pretty close!" Even if you're willing to let everyone have spoiler information about you and vice-versa, that's not the game that everyone else wants to play. And it's certainly no good posting leading/spoiler questions in your thread and not in your neighbors' - I'm sure you would do your best to avoid acting on such information, but a) that's not always easy, and b) that kind of data can be used unscrupulously. Here at RBCiv, I don't expect to see people doing so - No Spoilers is the first rule of our Epics and Adventures, and the community's philosophy is, "Play legitimately, and seek additional challenges" - but we certainly can't ask leading questions just because you're willing to read them ... and I hope you're not posting those sorts of questions to the other teams' sites when RB is racing them for something in the Apolyton demogame!

I don't have time now to explain everything, but I'll try to do it this afternoon.

That's right, some things are. However at this stage of the game, given that we are not going for anything that is contested, asking questions about stuff I have provided infomation about isn't leading.

That depends on what infomation I've given (as do all leading questions). If I've done a basic outline about settling a city, and stated the turn the new city could be built, and you asked for a clarification about what I'd written, that wouldn't be leading. If I had not given the plan though, that would be leading. It's all dependent on what infomation I have given out.

If I have given out the infomation I can not know something is a leading question. If we are trying to build a wonder, I have to assume someone is racing us no matter what, same for a religion or tech.

Spoilers, definately agree. Leading questions also, but as I said above, the more info I give you, the less leading questions there are for you to ask.

That makes sense to me; I apologize for misunderstanding what you said. Certainly if you tell us the timing when things will be finished without prompting, no one reading the thread would have a reason to ask a leading question along those lines! (Plus, it is of course much appreciated, for the same reason the temptation to ask such questions exists in the first place!) We lurkers will still have to be careful not to post accidental spoilers of other types (and not to lazily ask a leading question just to avoid looking five posts up to where you already told us) but providing the information in advance of our asking indeed sounds like a great way to satisfy our curiosity and avoid getting such spoilers. So ... thanks!

We've currently exploring up the NE with Q1, and so far uncovered [u]zero[/i] food resources. I hope we find some soon, because otherwise that area is just a complete wasteland; we also found the northern edge of the map.
While I'm not at Imhoteps' level of desparation yet, I do hope Sullla didn't leave this map with really sparse food resources. Realistically sparse food does favour us though, but it's somewhat boring when every city site is decided by the location of a single food resource...which has happened before.
PS. I'd place a bet this map is based on a Ring or Wheal map.

Well, on your starting picture (after settling) I can at least already see some cow and crab (even possibly for the same city)....

Yeah, We've seen those, they are planned to fit into the second city. However we've explore enough land for another 2 cities east of that and not seen anything viable.
I'll upload a picture tomorrow, or tonight if the turn rolls before I go to bed.

OK, just checked the stats, and I can tell that ZPV (CRE, EXP), Ruff (AGG, CRE) and Broker33 (CRE, ORG)all grew to size 2 at the end of the last turn.
An interesting mention for crop yield: the highest is 8. Now, how do you reach that, at size 2, in 9 turns? Fish? that's 5, city tile, 2, so that's only 7, and no one could have gotten a worker out this quick. So realistically need to be size 2, working a 3 food tile and a fish. But that's impossible, can't grow that fast and grow to size 2 in 9 turns.
So the only answer I can think is that someone went work boat first, has a fish and settled on a 3 food tile.
