Can you expand on why he sucks that bad? Lots of people think he is good or at least okay...(Speaker having him as a random leader for example).

No synergy (at most, very weak synergy) between the traits. Cheap buildings aren't of much use here (deity archi map would be different). Lacking Exp/Cre/Imp to speed up the early game (which I value more than Fin). UB is blah when you can run HR and get 2 cheap archers for 32 hammers (so basically paying 35 hammers for 2 health instead of 67, and I suppose you can save some gold, but you will need hte units anyway in AW, but can survive without the health). The UU needs to be gained asap to be useful, so drafting Jans is kinda difficult to do - and keeps you away from Edu unless you take the long route, so you lose out on getting the OU up early, and Lib.
Basically, it is a very restrictive combination, compared to others. I'd much rather have Pacal of China (ZOMFG awesome), or Cathy of Maya (solid early game = solid late game).

Thanks for the food Speaker :b: if only horse flesh tasted nice...
Just finished AH, and it appears that half of the players went worker first, the other half grew. I'm building a warrior next, question is, do I time it for 3 turns, sero overflow, so I can start working the pig asap once finished, or go for growth straight away on the flood plains and hope I don't get choked?
oh, wait, it is AW. Work the forest next turn.

Not posted in a while because nothing to post about. Teched AH>Mining>BW, just finished it last turn. Here are 2 pictures showing all of the map that I have uncovered so far.
As you can see, Cyneheard is my western neighbour, and because of hte shape of hte land I think I am in the bottom right corner of the map, which suits me. I am 2 turns from finishing my second worker, first civ to 4 pop, and wondering where to go. I don;t think I'm going to get pottery right now, as I'm not about to cottage the flood plains, I'd much rather turn my capital into a production city until I have those silver or furs hooked. Second city location is not yet fixed, because my aim is to get to 3 cities asap and reconsider what to do afterwards.
I'm considering teching to a religion now, Myst>Med, or possibly getting Henge (that stone will be in my borders at the end of next turn). Got plenty of options, and I am no longer fearful of a warrior choke...mainly trying to figure out the easiest way to pop borders, I dislike wasting hammers for monuments in these types of games, and henge would provide a prophet for the shrine (easier to get a GS, so get the Prophet first...not been a game I've played on RB where I've gone for the early academy, so perhaps a change there is in order?)
I do have the say that the map is luscious, so I am considering cottage spam and Pyramids as a rather powerful combination, especially with that stone and a strong production capital...not exactly short of plans atm.
Long term aims for a western city btw, is for the corn/gold/flood plains (or rather, 2 cities on the front 5 tiles apart to give better culture coverage.)

Andstarted research into meditation, hoping to found it in my second city. Not sure if I'll get it though.

Hinduism got founded last turn, so after thinking about it, I decided to send the settler (just finished t26) to the 2wheat/fur site, and found Buddhism in my capital. The advantage is that Ican automatically get the +1 happy by just revolting, instead of waiting for a religion spread, and I don't need a border pop in the second city to get furs and one wheat hooked.
Also, I'm considering building Henge. I can get it in 5 turns, or research Masonry and get stone hooked in 6 turns, meanwhile building 2 workers from LG to improve city 2. It would be nice for the 100% likely GP, and get the GS from city 2. Only other tech that makes sense right now is Pottery IMO, but I also need Hunting in short order for furs and spears.
However, I'm just happy that I managed to guess the right religion to tech
(PS. note that I've not chopped a single forest yet. I reckon that I could get Henge in 2 turns from when Stone is hooked, ie by t34)

Something I forgot to post yesterday. I found sunrises' borders. This turn, I moved my two eastern scouting warriors next to him, and he can view both. There is one next to his northern city, and one next to his southern city. Unsure which is his capital, as he could have founded the Hindu holy city in the northern city to pop the borders.

Sunrise has a third settler out *sigh* Damned IMP. Guarding it with a warrior and Quechua, and I have to assume he has copper hooked...
Going to have to accelerate my settlingplan, or prepare to road to histhird city and kill it with axes asap, and I really don't want to do that.

Not that big a waste, I could have used the road to get a nice wheat/pigs/copper city up to my east asap, using the settler I just built for city #2. Not that big a waste...but I'd rather not.
The problem is that I need the western city to hold some of the land against sunrise defensively. If I don't get the city, I can't hold the land, and that cripples me compared to everyone else, and benefits sunrise massively.
However, turns out sunrise has moved the settler back to city 2, retreated the quechua, and let me solidify my "choke" on the path to his third city. So I'm about to finish my fourth worker next turn, then place 1 turns into an axe, do a 2 turn henge (love stone...didn't even get that advantage in PBEM2) finish the axe, do a settler, and go plant city 3 for the pigs/copper/wheat anyway Could get the city settled t40? With 2 workers to road there beforehand and then improve the city. My gamble to stick with the plan is starting to seem like the smart move...
I think sunrise screwed up, he could easily have pushed ahead with settling city 3, and gotten an axe out (I assume he has copper...perhaps this defensive measure means he doesn't? But then that is a strategic error on his part to not settle for copper with his second city).
