Could someone quote or link to the agreed-upon rules and such for this game? I assume it's somewhere in the signup thread but I stopped following that a while ago.

Personally, I'd rate the choices thus:


Izzy of England (revolting in and out of Nationhood and Theocracy anyone? Plus EXP for the early game boost)
Bismark of Sumeria (can ignore CS and focus on Oracling MC or the GL and then getting Fued)
Catherine of China (autowin for culture wars, plus probably the most explosive start)
Shaka of Zulu (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWVxI6XZAuE#t=0m16s and good start)
Louis of Babylon (a little bit WTF but no need for Henge means he can focus on Oracle or GL)
Washington of Greece (no synergy but higher early game pop counts in a slow NTT game is useful)
De Gaulle of Egypt (already commented above)

The rest are junk, depends on how the game unfolds on how viable they are:

Roosevelt of Netherlands
Wang Kon of Arabia
Asoka of Vikings

Exactly equal to the number of turns until I piss off roughly half the lurkers and players in the game.

I'd bet a new PBEM would have the save held up for a couple of days from someone forgetting it is there turn or playing and forgetting to send on before this game gets paused for rule lawyering. Want to take the bet with the newly started PBEM 13?

I wouldn't bet on it for PBEM 13 as all bar one of us are using the PBEM emailer so we all know who's turn it is most of the time.

That does make it easier then, so perhaps a bad example. In my expierience here (in PB3 and PBEM 8, where after PBEM tracker went down we've just been emailing), there has been just as much delay in PBEM from people forgetting it was there turn as there was in pitboss from rule lawyering.

Generally get less animosity from not knowing where the save is which means everyone wants to carry on with the game asap.
