I loved the concept and the map, though. Brought me a lot of memories :neenernee
Nox Noctis saved my bacon more times than I can count. Being able to just stick units out there hanging in the breeze and know they'll be ignored is incredibly powerful.
You can't fear units out of cities. That's why I think offensive fear sucks most of the time (good for getting stacks off forest/hills and separating nonliving units though).
Alright, well I didn't want to sound too butthurt about the game, just got alarmed at the conspicious lack of reports :neenernee
Like I've said before, I'm happy for anyone to report at anytime, and yeah I really encourage anyone to, even if it's weeks or months from now. I love seeing how these maps play out in practice, since my test games are always compromised by spoiler knowledge and my need to go into WB every few dozen turns or so to make sure the AI hasn't done anything too horrendously stupid.
Ranamar, I don't care at all if you post your report a few hours or a day late or whatever. Feel free to take your time, as long as you post some pictures Since it sounds like you're going to be the first person able to make a full report regardless, I'm not going to be a total nazi about sticking to the actual closing date. I'm willing to push back reporting for another week if that'll give Ravus enough time to report as well. At least then there can be some minimal scoring competition =)

You can if you use the Dragon roar spell, however, I discovered. *pimp*
Actually, unfortunately, on further consideration, I may be out of the running too: I finished on Monday night and wasn't sure if that qualified as before or after time was up. (The problem was, I took 2 weeks out in the middle to play Sword of the Stars because I'd just bought it, instead. I really needed at least one of those weekends to finish earlier.) I'll still post my log anyway.
For me, I think I just have a mental block with the tournament games. This game is probably just about the edge of my skill level with the mod, so I really have to concentrate to play well. Unfortunately, I can't force myself to concentrate that tightly in SP games. So I tend to play 40 turns or so, get frustrated with my mental mistakes, and walk away.
From what I saw of it, the map and scenario looked like a lot of fun, like all of them so far have. But for me to really finish a game like this, it needed to be about 25% easier. I'm just not good/focused enough at FFH to combine dealing with the absurd SoDs AND try to complete a fun but tricky variant. I'm not suggesting you SHOULD make the games easier, as I suspect I'm on the lower end of FFH skill for FFH players around here. I'm working on it, though!
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?
I played about with it a bit, but the scoring mechanism on this seemed like too much work to track the different creature types, and Pokemon isnt really my thing, so I felt I was missing things that should mean something to fans.
IMHO your games are amazing. I didn't play this one due to the scoring mechanic - I had neither the time/desire or skill to field a competitive score.
I am definitely still interested in FFH adventures.
Basically this... even from the beginning I ignored the long list of pokemon and concentrated on the smaller goal of fielding a squad of 6 to do some killing.
And then:
I saw Giovanni (the strength 16 unit) guarding the city above us and realized it'd be a while before I'd have another city. I didn't really know where to focus (and built things faster than I could tech better things to build) and quit at about turn 120.
I guffawed when the starting hunter had maelstrom and I realized the depth of the pokemon theme.

I missed the maelstrom reference, somehow.
I did notice that the difficulty order of the stars went bulbasaur-squirtle-charmander, which was the relative difficulty order of the starting choices in the original game. Along with other assorted references.
