Then we can just use the leaders to balance the remaining civs. I think people would like to see a high magic t3/t4 game so I would try to stay away from the all-in rushers and more towards traits like Charismatic that play well in lategame.
some ideas:
Kuriotates / Faeryl (gives them another direction besides the usual centaur spam, a leader with no econ traits should slow them down a bit too)
Sheaim / Perpentach (for a civ that is never quite sure whether it's a rush or lategame civ, the insane leader seems to fit perfectly)
Sidar / Falamar or Sidar / Capria (trait combos that might make them viable)
Gaspar Wrote:Could be kind of fun to run as many late game Civs as possible out there - we still haven't really seen the likes of Sheaim, Amurites shine late.
Maybe that's a list - non-crap Civs that we haven't seen the best out of yet:
Sheaim
Amurites
Bannor
Gets a little dicier after that. Other's that we haven't seen full potential from but not precisely late game Civs:
Svartalfar
Elohim
Others we might never see because they're not good enough to have a great late game:
Luchuirp
Is that a game there? Mostly agree with all that. Swap Elohim in Gaspar list with Faeryl Kurios. I don't like Luchuirp though, can we fit Grigori in there?

Not Elohim, Sanctuary is a bitch, and it screws the metagame you want to achieve.

Hmmm.
How about:
Faeryl of Kurios
Perpy of Sheaim
Dain of Grigori
Thessa of Amurites
Capria of Sidar
Falamar of Svarts
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

To be honest, after the PBEM results so far I am not sure if even golems with fireball enabled could beat an equal tech 3move army.
How many picks do we want, about 8?
How about
Grigori / Cardith (see how they do without the agnostic handicap)
Svartalfar / Alexis (they could use more teeth early game than Faeryl gives them, since they tend to get rushed and have a crap world spell. Falamar works too.)

I knew if I shut up, things would start making sense ![smile smile](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/smile2.gif) .
Yeah, I generally agree with the consensus that magic-heavy and late-game civs would be fun to see shine, and the best way is to make them all that way.
Mist, maybe you could make the map on the larger side, as well, to encourage that trend?
@uber: The way they were talking (admittedly with only half of them agreeing so far), we just need 6, one for each of them, and some way of assigning them to the players. I'm leaning toward random for that piece. Also, from what I understand, Grigori even non-agnostic are still forbidden from building all the temples and hence most of the religious units, anyway.
I mostly like your list, Gaspar, except that I'd kinda like to see the Bannor, too. I'm not sure precisely who I'd replace to cause that. Maybe the Grigori could go, as the civ most likely to rush?

I wanted to say a whole lot actually, but then. Honestly, i don't feel that i can say anything for this game, for one reason. Tasunke made me really annoyed with his confrontational behavior, and i feel that whatever i say in this thread will be biased against him.
With that aside, i really want to see the leaders/civs chosen for this =)
P.S: I believe that for the Grigori, the religious techs itself are banned, therefore no temples and so on.

Was thinking maybe Grigori/Auric then, but they're probably too dependent on Philo to make that work.
Decius Bannor are pretty cool... or maybe give them financial to help their cottage economy along?

I started 60x40, but with 6 players I need a square ( so I'm extending it at the moment by text editing tiles into the WB Save ![banghead banghead](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/banghead.gif) Kingdom for a better WorldBuilder )

You can edit the python map scripts to give a specific size map, I think. Don't ask me how though.
