Maybe give the Luchiurp extra hammer tiles, you & I both know how badly they need them.
I did!
Actually I didn't, they were my 3rd choice!
Funniest is that they were first choice for 2 players in the end.

Were there some restrictions on the picks? Garrim is pretty okay when everyone else agrees to limit themselves to no Financial. Varn needs to be nerffed, maybe give him a single FP as his food in place of wet corn. Oh wait...

They banned Keelyn, the Calabim, and the Illians.
I'm pretty sure you're joking - but aside from ensuring the luchiurp have pigs, I'd much rather Square Leg balances every start equally. It's not like we picked their civs for them. You wouldn't give someone an extra wet corn because they wanted to go warrior-first, would you?

Heh, yeah, I was joking. The essential task of every mapmaker is to give player enough rope to hang themselves with.

Did they decide on a difficulty level? If it's Emperor or higher, I think this will lead to a *very* slow start in a game where lurkers are already expressing fear that the players will lose interest. Also, civs that start with Expansive or with the Agriculture tech will be considerably ahead of the curve.

It does make me wonder if we should play some games with some sort of quick start settings. Just give every civ all the "starting techs", exploration, agriculture, crafting and ancient chants and a worker. Shaves around 20 turns of mind numbing tedium off the early game. But it doesn't warp things to the same extent as a classical start.

If Golems got benefit from the defender trait, he'd be a pretty nice leader.
Although if Golems got advantage from leader traits, an unrestricted leader of them with Tasunke would be fun... Commando golems.

They have given me free reign with difficulty so I will likely choose Monarch.
Ffh Pbem 12 Spoiler:
There will be 1 commerce special at the capital for everyone.
Your comments re expansive are correct but isn't that the intention of taking an expansive leader?
Edit - actually - there aren't any expansive leaders in this game.
Everyone should be able to settle cities 2-4 in commerce rich areas should they choose to and so overall, I think the tech pace should be ok.

Fun map plan, is the centre going to be just marsh and poor or is it also going to be a maze to navigate through? Your mad map paint skills are blinding me from reading properly

Agreed that the capiltals need a commerce resource (plus some rivers for farms/cottages).
Smacking enter 40 or 50 times just to get to the basic techs isn't much fun in SP let alone PBEM MP.
let the players tech and you'll hear a lot less bitching in the lurker threads.

Almost clicked on the FFH12 spoiler... Why am i still alive in that game @@
Anyways, it's a neat little map. Are the fronts open to each other for early rushes though?
Xenin will probably have a head-start in terms of experience. She has been around longer and thus more lurker threads to read through and learn. Rhoanna is easy to use as well.
